Anyone using an air compressor to dry cleaned carto's?

I bake mine, about 200 - 225F, one hour on a paper towel on a pan.

I'd likely not use standard air compressors, potential for some unwanted junk, classically hydrocarbons, not just pure air.

If the compressor has a dryer and filtration, like you use for auto painting it'd probably be OK. Ideally, I wish there was a centrafuge that would hold cartos, great for cleaning and refilling.

I'm a diver, so pretty .... about compressors. Something with a dryer and filtration, as you said, is likely absolutely fine, but I'll stick to the oven

good point. Most (not all) of my hubby's compressors have filtration etc I think, hum...not sure. He paints RC car bodies and motorcycles for ppl in his spare time (HA...what's that! spare time is like spare change, never enough.), occasionally a car/truck time permitting. I just started w/e-cigs, so this isn't something I practice now at all. But it's nice to learn about 'options' for the future. Loving this forum filled with info!

A little confused here. When blowing out a carto by mouth, I blow from the mouth end. Now I am noticing some posts
where it sounds as if they should be blown out from the battery end. Which is correct? Thanks!

I can't say what is 'correct', but when I blow them out with a compressor, it is from the (in my case) the 510 attachment end and out towards the mouth end.


And I agree about the filters, safer is always better...I always have moisture traps on the in and out of mine, I shoot guitar finishes, so your hubster and I are coming at it from a relatively common viewpoint.
