I don't know what a "long time" is for you. I'm at a wifi hotspot right now and measured 6.02mbps with speedtest.net. I cleared my browser (Firefox) cache and went to page #7 of this
thread and the photos took about 4 secs to load. The laptop I'm using is an old crappy laptop about 5 years old and very slow, old video (I turn off HD when viewing NetFlix movies because otherwise they don't flow right). I don't find this delay unreasonable and prefer the high res so I can zoom in for further detail.
If your network speed is indeed 10mbps, you should load that page in less than 3 secs (make sure you clear your cache when testing it). Otherwise, something else is the problem, like using IE maybe? Or some OS or video issue. I'm using Windows XP SP3, fully updated, no video card, just onboard graphics.
Edit: My screen resolution is 1280x800 at 32-bit color.
Edit: Just tested this with Chrome and it took about the same as Firefox, maybe a second longer. I did find Chrome has trouble scrolling over the images, it pauses the scrolling when going over the images. Firefox scrolls smoothly over the images.
I have 10Mbs speed and the photos still took a long time to display for me. Zipper is correct. The files were too large.
