Got my Apollo talk a couple days ago; I seem to be having wicking issues; getting dry hits every couple of puffs. Running the tank on my Ovale V8 at 3.4v. Any ideas??

I haven't been able to use mine on the V8 at over 3.1 and find they work best on the XL3 18650 on the red setting. In fact the only things I've been able to use with the V8 are Smok mega dual coil cartomizers and the ViVi Nova tank with the 2.8 replacement. The V8 just puts out to much :) I need to find something over 3.5 ohms I think.

I have had good luck with the V8 using Boge 2.0 cartos and the 2.0 carto with tank, but I haven't had consistent performance with the Stardust and E-1 units. On the other hand the top wick units work well on my mini LT. I don't understand why though. The CE-5 and E-3 both give pretty dry hits even with adding extra wick and notching the silicone caps. And again those units work better on my mini LT. Doesn't make much sense.

Sometimes it is a different draw on different units from the way the connector is set up. Some let more air than others which can have a noticeable difference in performance from one unit to the next.

I haven't had any problem with dry hits until the tank gets low and I'm on my 6th tank fill. I have had gurgling issues but no juice in the mouth. It was suggested to vape it vertically so I've been doing that and it seems to have solved the gurgling. I ordered a couple of the knuckle driptips to make it easier to keep it vertical when vaping. I like these better than my Nova's when I don't have the gurgling. They are extremely easy to clean or replace the atomizer.:)

I was just looking to see if others have had gurgling or dry hits.
First and second fill I had a few dry hits, then gurgling. Third fill I only filled it about half way and still have
the gurgling.
No juice in the mouth, but the gurgles and a little leaking out of the battery end.
I'm using it with an extender on my ProVari at 3.7.

If it starts to gurgle take off the driptip and soak up the juice that is in the top with a napkin and blow out any juice that might be in the airtube then make sure to vape it vertical and it will eliminate 90% of the gurgling. I lay my PV down flat between vapes when it gets low and it seems to keep the wicks soaked and I don't get the dry hits. The juice only seems to get in the top when you are vaping it horizontal.:)

Thanks for that.
I don't, out of habit, vape vertical. Depending on the PV I'm using, anywhere between 2 and 5 o'clock.
With this, it's closer to the 5.

I did just empty, tested for tightness and refilled. A little more than to the bottom of the top piece of metal.
I did take an empty syringe and pushed some air down the center.
This seemed to have helped some.
I'm thinking of taking off the smaller wick like mentioned in LordDavon's review video.
