I started vaping at 24 mg./ml., but it wasn't enough. I sought out some 36 mg./ml. e-liquids and vaped at that strength, three to four ml. per day, for about six months. Then I started tapering down and now vape four to five ml. per day at 16 mg./ml., which seems to be about right for me.

If you do the math, for about six months, I was vaping 108 to 144 mg. of Vitamin N per day. And now I'm vaping 64 to 80 mg. per day. I've been vaping for a bit over three years. You'll find similar consumption numbers quoted by tens of thousands of people here on ECF.

And those numbers should surely put to bed the notion that the LD50 of nicotine is 30 to 60 mg.!
Just because you go through x amount of nicotine in y amount of e-liquid per day doesn't mean that y times x equals the amount of nicotine you put into your system per day. Any vapor that you exhale contains nicotine that didn't reach your system.

I vape 2.5 ml of 15 mg nicotine liquid per day. If I absorbed every bit of vapor from that liquid then I would be putting 37.5 mg of nicotine into my system each day. However, I exhale a lot of that vapor.

Cloud chasers produce a lot of surplus vapor. Even a carto tank user like myself produces a lot more vapor than I actually use.

Isn't Poisoning defined as both Dosage and Frequency?

I use about 5ml/day of 18mg/ml. So my Total intake for 24 Hours is 90mg of Nicotine. Is that the Same as taking in 90mg of Nicotine in 1 Mouthful once a Day?

Of course Not. Even if the Absorption Rate was the Same, which it is Not. (BTW - What is the Currently in Vogue Percentage for Nicotine Absorption via an e-Cigarette? 15%? 20%? 30%)

It's kinda like if 2 people go to a BBQ and One Person has 1 Beer every Hour for 6 Hours. And another Guzzles a 6 Beers in 5 Minutes.

Who's would you think is Best to Drive Home?

A friend of mine that quit smoking with vaping came over the other night so my wife could do her hair. I was dripping and dropped a bit on my hand. As is my custom, I licked it off and she about flipped out. She told me I was going to make myself sick and possibly die. So, to prove a point, I took my bottle and dropped 2 drops directly on my tongue. And here I am typing this post right now, two days later.

A teaspoonful of liquid is 5ml. That is a lot more than a leak from a tank. That is a third of a bottle. Don't drink, just vape it. You will be fine. I have liquid on my hands constantly, every day. And I am still alive and kicking. The media twists things to scare the crap out of people.

Concentrated liquid can be a problem but the liquid we buy at the store or online to vape is not an issue unless your toddler drinks a 15ml bottle, and at that point you should probably take a look at your parenting skills.

I am still new to vaping. My ego e-cig frequently leaks some small amounts of e-liquid into my mouth. I read a report that these e-liquids are highly poisonous and I see a skull sign on the bottles.
I read somewhere that less than a teaspoon of an e-liquid can kill a child. This made me frightened. What do you do if the e-liquid leaks into your mouth? Do you wash your moth? I think I swallowed quite a few drops in past 2-3 days due to the e-cig leaking it.

Any advice? I am really panicking now!

If you haven't swallowed a 30 ml bottle, you'll be fine. But if you have get to the local ER. I Kidding!
In mexico you don't drink the water, in vaping you don't drink the eliquid

If you are getting drops of eliquid in your mouth your ego tank needs attention. Your atomizer is flooding, I suspect. Remove the tank from the battery, wrap the tank in a paper towel, and blow a couple of puffs into the driptip to clear the excess eliquid. Wipe off the excess eliquid from the threaded area, reassemble and vape on.

The nicotine is poisonous if swallowed because it can be absorbed in the skin and or into the blood stream if swallowed. You will have to drink a shot glass full of 100% nic per ml to really hurt or kill you. If you get splatter mouth, rinse your mouth with water and drink a good 12 oz. glass of water. You will feel first symptoms of nausea, after that a head rush that will shut off all your functioning (movement, talking, vision) for about 5 minutes and you will not want to vape for a while your body will not want nicotine. VG and PG will make you use the bathroom if you drink it. You are fine if you are on ECF.

I worried too at first but I figure I used to smoke analogs cant get too much worse than that poison..
however when I clean my tanks or refill I also get quite a bit on ny hands and my lips and in my mouth since I usually hold my atty in between my lips during refills and I havent felt sick
But after reading the articles that are out there against vaping as a whole
I notice I do think about it more and worry a bit too but thats how they get you with that seed of doubt..makes me wonder how many people have quit vaping after reading some of the articles
I know 2 myself. ..I don't plan to quit I love it

You discount the fact that a lie repeated often enough becomes "common knowledge."

You would probably be surprised how little liquid it would take to kill you if you drank some.

For most ADULT humans, a 30-60mg dose is enough to kill. That would only require drinking 2ml or so of 24mg juice. Figure about 3ml if it's 18mg juice.

But a single drop every now and then isn't going to do much more than taste really nasty.

Given that there are only two credible reports* of nicotine-poisoning-related death in recent memory, you're absolutely right: I'd be shocked if what you say proved to be accurate. Read yzer's numbers (or read this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-amy-fairchild/liquid-death-from-ecigare_b_5044145.html ).

(* - One report involves a man who deliberately killed himself by injecting liquid nicotine, and the other is a vague and unverifiable report about a child in Israel.)

The bottom line is that yes, nicotine can be poisonous, but in vaping-relevant concentrations, liquid nicotine is significantly less dangerous than any number of household items we handle on a daily basis with little or no thought. The recent media blitz about the deadly threat of liquid-nicotine poisoning is pure sensationalism, manufactured by corrupt and irrational would-be tyrants in the tobacco-control industry. Seriously, reading stuff like this, you'd think that liquid nicotine fatalities were sweeping the nation ("Nicotine calls to poison-control centers are up 300%!!!!"), but if you use the alarmists' reasoning, freaking energy drinks are still three times more dangerous.

Don't worry. Vape on.

Now, come on, who has ever had a drip of their e-juice get into their mouth and actually enjoyed it enough to have another drip? IOW, who wanted to actually drink a teaspoon full of it? Let alone a whole bottle???

I vape menthol. Love the taste, love the smell, but when a drip comes through, maybe once a week, I detest the taste of the liquid.

I can't imagine any child/animal/adult guzzling it down enough to kill them or heck, even make them sick. One taste and ICK!!! comes to mind.

This recent attack with the 'poison angle' on e-juice is nothing but a witch hunt.
Lets put this nicotine 'poisoning' in perspective against other products. This is for 2013 for DC.
Anyone hear any politician or Government agency calling to ban any of the following?

Most Common Poison Exposures for
Young Children and Adults
National Capital Poison Center, 2013

Cosmetics/personal care products 2,541
Cleaners 1,758
Pain medications 1,495
Foreign bodies 1,359
Topical medicines 963
Vitamins 808
Antihistamines 793
Batteries 672
Plants and mushrooms 537
Antimicrobials 509
Pesticides 470
Arts/crafts/office supplies 447
Gastrointestinal preparations 393

Numbers can Sometimes be Deceiving.

Look at the #1 Poison Exposure. Cosmetics/personal care products 2,541

OK... How many Households have Cosmetics/Personal Care products in them? Every Single House Hold?

Now look at the 13th on that list. Gastrointestinal preparations 393. How Many House Holds have Gastrointestinal preparations on hand?

I wonder what the Percentage Differential is between the House Holds that have Gastrointestinal Preparations and then ones who do Not?

Also. If e-Liquid use is Up 300%, is it any Big News that Calls to a Poison Center regarding e-Liquids should be Up 300%?

Seems Normal to me.

Just like if the number of House Hold that had Gastrointestinal Preparations went Up 300%, Wouldn't the Calls to Poison Control Centers Increase by Relatively Similar Amount.

Things like e-Liquids and Gastrointestinal Preparations don't get safer when More People have them on hand. But the Number of Poisoning Incidents should go Up.

The original poster already stated her eliquids have 0 nic. Zero nic means you have zero nic. The skull symbol on their bottles is probably a standard label they use for all bottles and since the bulk of their sales is probably nic based they use it for every bottle.

Even at 18 or even 24mg, a splatter will come into your mouth once in a blue moon. We've all had it happen. None of us died or it would be all over the news. But at zero nic I don't understand the concern. There's nothing else in eliquid but flavorings, pg and vg.

Strangely enough, I find the taste of Boba's Bounty pretty pleasant. Not enough to guzzle it (what a waste!) but enough where I really don't mind if I get a little on my tongue.
