It will remain a hobby for those that love to tinker. As long as I can buy a coil and wick already made up that just needs to be screwed in for a dollar I won't be rebuilding any.
I am slowly switching over to rebuildable stardusts because they're easier to take apart and clean. They really don't burn out so quickly that the extra $3-4 to replace the whole thing, instead of the atty, is a factor.
