Until atties come stock with cotton (or other natural fiber wicks) I'll be rebuilding mine. Shards of silica in my lungs? No thanks. Since I've been able to kick cigs, I've only tried to improve the safety of my vaping (less flavorings, lower levels of quality nic, removing silica, and even watching out for exploding batteries). I also have excersized more, try to eat better, etc. Since removing the single biggest danger to my health, why wouldn't I?

Anyway...I don't think they are the future at all though. Cigs: light end and take a drag. It's gotta be that simple or darn close for 99.9% of people.

Are they the future? No they are my future but most people will be looking for easy use over some that requires you to tinker. I really see the old cigarette style coming back in fashion or the Ego style being the largest PV most people get. The bigger size tubes or the box type PV are just not going be attractive to non-advanced users.

For someone like me rebuildables such as the vivi nova are the future. I get that a carto is only a couple buck, but that couple bucks here and there and then the shipping adds up to money I just don't have.

Having very little income currently it is nice knowing that $15 for the vivi nova and then another $7 for the 100' of wire is all I have to spend on it for months (already had the cotton thread I use for my wicks). So no worries of I am on my last carto is money gonna be in the bank to cover an order. Some don't have that worry and for them that's great, some of us do.

So if you prefer cartos or some other delivery device and can afford it great, if like me you can't this is a valid option.

I have a DID genesis on the way I gave into the hype hope it's worth it.

Know what you mean. Just I would like to get at least a Lavatube or ProVari before something like the DID becomes reality.

That and should be getting a Lathe in a few months and start turning some bar stock.

I don't see rebuidables being a product for the masses. Something like the Vivi Nova with the replaceable head can be used by all but, not something that requires you to wind your own coil or oxidize your own stainless steel wick. Many if not most people don't even know how to use an ohmmeter or even what an ohmmeter is for. They aren't going to be successful with a true rebuildable.

Yeah, I think Rebuildables are more for a Smaller Market of People with Lots of Time, Nimble Fingers and Good Eyes.

I think "Reloadable" is more what the Masses will move to.

Just saw this today.

i have terrible vision (I'm like 3/4 of the way blind).
Legally disabled by my vision and I can rebuild them well enough.
not to mention my DT's which haven't left..

Not say's that there won't be a Sector of people, even with Less than Perfect eyesight, who will not continue to Rebuild Wicks/Coils.

I just think as More and More Cartos/Attys become available with Reloadable Coils/Wicks that may people will shift from Rebuilding to Reloading.

Especially if OEM’s started to offer Choices in wick materials besides Aramid Fibers.

Here is what I think, the flavor from direct dripping is the best but most in terms of hassle. Genesis style atomizers are second best in flavor but building a wick and coil are also a pain.

Cartos have decent flavor and are easier to maintain, also a tank on them and they are super easy for vaping on the go.

I think the future less in someone coming up with the ease of use of a carto but with the flavor of a genesis or direct dripping.

I'm wanting to try this and the kanger T2. I've gotten a bit bored lately (everything has been working!) so I need to fiddle a little LOL I got my premade coils from avidvaper today.. can't wait to see just how hard (or easy) it is to install them in my VN. (after my nap of course ;) )

I think it is a Good Sign when Many OEM's jump on a Design Bandwagon. I think we will see More Cartos/Attys that are Rebuildable/Reloadable.

I've Rebuilt a Few Coils/Wicks. I'll give you one word of Advise from someone who Forgot.

Besure to Burn Off the Wire and Wick BEFORE you put it All Back Together.

When you get to the Point where you have the Wire Wrapped around the Wick, grap it with a pair of Pliers and put in the Stove Flame.

Yeah Tomz...

I'm a (minor grade) modder... build the e-cigs too. Never got into atty building though... because... WHY? $7 or $8 dollars per month for a new atty. Didn't care to mess with it. But that's me.

Then... with this vivi nova thing... I don't need a machine shop and don't have to spend a fortune on something that I may not like. So I may try it. Not really for the tank aspect (I drip mostly) but for the rebuildable aspect and I'll "deal" with the tank. Would be great for driving. I use CE2's now.

With all the bad things I've read about the vivi nova plus PBusardo's review I was scared to buy one so I waited until I found the phoenix from Vapor......com and a phoenix style from nhaler.com at 19.99 for the Phoenix and 15.99 for the knockoff I felt that even if they sucked or I sucked at rebuilding them it was worth it to try something new that could become my favorite new toy. I put a SS Mesh with .32guage wire in my phoenix only 5 wraps and 3.7v and the flavor is unmatched the only thing close is the Ikenvape 801@5v I purchased the prewound wick and wire from Nhaler.com and it must be higher ohms because I'm vaping it at 6v. So I'm pretty much sold on these but I still love my 801's in a tank. IMO if you can get the two I mentioned there is no real need to purchase the DID or Penelope or whathaveyou and don't get me wrong I'm not knocking these I just feel rebuildable is rebuildable and it's like buying a darwin when you can get a kick.

he meant to iodize the wick if you use SS mesh, so it doesn't conduct electricity and create a short.
