personally im pretty sure that vaping is safer then cigarettes but i would like to know where i can find a documented study. i have a friend of mine that i work with part time. he is an electrician and i work as his helper. he is constantly ridding my .... about my vaping, he likes to say that "i dont know what vaping is doing to me". i would like to show him that the health risks while they exist are minimal. i would like to be able to vape in peace, i find the critism annoying and unproductive. any ideas??? i like working with him but he should leave the vaping alone

Just curious, is he a smoker or a non-smoker?

He's right, we don't know what vaping is doing to us. There really is no long term study. We know it has a lot fewer chemicals in it and feel it is probably safer. It's probably better for us than smoking cigarettes. But, let's not kid ourselves into thinking it is good for us. It's not. There never will be a report out that tells us it's all hunkey dorey to vape which you can wave in someone's face.

That being said, I'm sorry your friend is irritating you. I don't like it when people pester me about things like that, either. And, it doesn't help at all. But, you can say to him, "Look, I am an adult. I feel that smoking cigarettes with 4000 chemicals and many known carcinogens is far worse for me than vaping which has 3 or 4 ingredients."

Agree with your friend - he just wants to be "right" about it. No big deal. Frankly he sounds like an overbearing kind of guy. the best way to deal with the overbearing is tell them what they want to hear and do what you want any way. Having the upper hand on an issue wont actually work with the overbearing types - they just up the ante.

he is an ex smoker maybe he jealous that i have managed to cheat the system quitting cigarettes but not the nicotine???

i never claimed that vaping has a health benefit like vitamins or exercise just that i feel that there is very little risk if any. he keeps telling me that i dont need any crutch, well i love being told what i do and do NOT need.

Perhaps that is the reason, that he is jealous. Perhaps he cares about you, his friend's health. You are still addicted to nicotine. If vaping went away tomorrow - what would you do? Most likely, go right back to cigs. He knows this. So, you really aren't cheating anything. You've chosen an alternate method of inhaling something that also gives you your nic fix. Hopefully, you are trying to reduce your addiction by stepping it down, too. If not, well that's your choice. He will eventually stop bugging you.

The most obvious effect will be the lack of 500+ additives and particulates. You don't have to be a scientist or have a research paper to know the difference between a "steam" and something that's burning. Sure vaping may not be "healthy", but if I went with flavourless I can at least pronounce the 3 things I'm inhaling.

Print up three cards. On the first, a picture of a crutch. Label it "CRUTCH". On the second, a picture of your PV. Label it "PERSONAL VAPORIZER". On the third, a picture of the guy who is bugging you. Label it "DOMINEERING JERK WHO NEEDS TO MIND HIS OWN DAMN BUSINESS TILL HE'S ASKED FOR AN OPINION, WHICH WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL AT THE RATE HE IS GOING".

You will find them useful as visual aids in your next encounter.
