I think the main thing with esmoking is 'to be careful' . I have now completely packed up smoking (been three days+) . Unlike a cig when you stub it out you know you've had a fill and if you were to light another it would seem you are overdoing it.

with ecigs you can continue puffing and not realise. each of us needs to put controls in place.

I do not always carry the ecig with around the office - but keep a (ink) pen in my mouth now. Also dismantle the ecig after a good puff also helps

Worrying about anything will send a smoker out for a cigarette. That instant hit -- brain anorexia, it was called here -- calms a smoker as nothing else can. It's nicotine and the blast of carbon monoxide. With e-smoking, each puff gives us only 1/5th the nic of a real cigarette puff and no carbon monoxide. We don't get that "cigarette" feeling. So we fret. We reach for a real cigarette.

DevilFish, if you want this to succeed for you, then there must a determination on your part that you will not substitute a real cigarette for your e-cigarette. You can smoke with friends and feel no guilt. But you won't be a real e-smoker as long as you worry about each little detail. You're still a beginner, still learning how to e-smoke. It'll all come together in short time.

Dose does make the poison, so every cig you skip for an e-cig break is a plus. This is transition time for you -- moving from a known deadly habit to a better way to obtain your addictive substance. Yes, you're an addict. I am too. So be it. Now, you have found the healthiest way to tame the addiction beast. Stick with it and let time determine the outcome of your own struggle.

Emp, I am seriously having to use other stuff some of the time. I have turned my throat bone dry in the past two days of inhaling from a Meltrex pen style and the new Janty KISSBox. I mean, I have a sore throat! The PG has dried it out completely.

I sip my e-cigar with its wimpy vapor. Feels right. Doesn't hurt my throat further.

And it's not nicotine that's hurting me. It's propylene glycol buildup. 'Cuse me while I go get another Cream Soda.

I forgot to give you the heads up about the unavoidable ... kicking you would receive from a brand new Mel and Kiss. Whoops! :D

I'm futzing around with hydration solutions at the moment (npi). Unfortunately I'm a rock hard ex-smoker. Blocked nose for the last twenty years so only breathed through my mouth while asleep. I'm used to waking up with the tip of my tongue sore and a mouth like a crisp packet. Believe it or not my mouth is moister in the mornings since I took up with this, and I'm a bulk user. I am never more than 15 minutes away from a cup of tea during daylight hours though...

all day Fishy. Never more than about 10 mins between drags. This is why we're more worried about PG (complete unknown) than nicotine (toxicity well understood). Remember the nic content of e-liquid is way lower than cigarettes, and the nic don't kill ya, the other crap does.

Emp

 I thought the susbtance only nic and another stuffs is safe products which they use to preserve tomatos...and natural flavorings in foods?

Has anyone else experienced the opposite as I have?

I'm smoking the e-cigarette less than I ever imagined! I love smoking it, but I never feel to need to do it as much as I ever did with cigarettes. I don't even feel like I could smoke a cigarette, and although I probably puff a couple more times on it than a cigarette over a longer space of time, I then don't need it for ages.

I mean... I thought I might be imagining it, but I've got a super-mini (RN4081) which has tiny cartridges, but I've gone down to smoking 2 carts. a day - and some days I don't even finish 1 cart!

I almost feel like I'm getting so much less nicotine compared to cigarettes that it's weening me off the addiction.

Does this make sense?

Yeah, but how many drags do you take at once? Like, if you smoke a cigarette, you light it and smoke it through to the end. I find, at least in the office, I'll pick up the e-cig, have a couple of drags on it and put it down for a while. In other words, how many drags of a real cigarette would you take before it was finished in comparison to an e-cig? Oh dear, I don't think I'm explaining myself too well - one of these moments when I know what I'm driving at but unable to put it adequately into words:rolleyes: Hope you can see what I mean:)

Hi Lady P

I use this thing all the time (sore teeth from gripping the mouthpiece all day). That's why I have to have zero nic versions to hand. I tried counting puffs but I couldn't keep score. Technology will not help here - can't remember the model but someone's touting an e-... that cuts out after x amount of heavy use, to try and introduce the natural breaks in real smoking. Would work great if I didn't have a dozen others lying around. Nope it's back to the old willpower and as far as nicotine goes, what I have wouldn't fill a flea's nuts...
