Has the unknown of what the FDA will do caused you to become a hoarder and / or a stasher?

I do not mean this judgementally and am only speaking for myself, but I don't see hoarding, of any kind, as a balanced healthy behavior for myself; I mean, not a place I want to go or be.

I already have a nicotine addiction I'm trying to work on, so adding another addictive type behavior to the stable would not be something I wish to do.

I will just work on reducing my nic level so I don't have to worry about becoming a hoarder or stasher, and then I also don't have to worry about what the FDA does. I tend to be the self sufficient type, so I really do not want to be encumbered by "more" stuff, and certainly, not by more "worries." And the stasher/hoarder thing isn't a behavior I want to add to my stable of eccentricities  and we all have some of those, right?

I also do not want to spend more $$ on this, as I could spend it on other stuff I enjoy doing. vaping isn't the only thing I enjoy.

Well, people have always "stockpiled". Particularly before modern transportation, emergency services, and refrigeration.

I guess you can always be "Mr./Mrs. Super Negative" and eventually, if you live long enough, you'll probably be correct.

Remember that "When something happens" could be tomorrow or 2000 years from now. I have more faith in America than to get all overly worried. I don't want to lose the present for the negative-future-fear. But, I don't see any harm in some minor stockpile...say a month's worth or even 3 month's worth of canned goods or whatever. But more than that....not for me.

OTOH, the nicotine thing for my DIY is so easily purchased in small containers and stored....heck...I got a year's worth in one order and now I'm good with it.

I think it's a matter of balance. And a bit of optimism combined with rational preparation.

Thank you, Sky....(blush)

I refuse to prepare for my rights to be taken. I will be like Cortez....I have burned my ships, and I am motivated!!

EDIT: Robert the Bruce's father...speaking of William Wallace? Is that correct?
You, sir, are correct!

One of my favorite movies.

Exactly AttyPops, sure I stockpile enough to last 3 months, even on food but, I live in an area prone to tornadoes, hurricanes and, ice storms and, I live in a rural location so, we may be w/o power and the roads may be blocked so we can't get to town for supplies for a while (last ice storm that was 5 weeks.)

I expect I will be dead and buried before this country really gets bad but, there is that off chance it might happen in my lifetime. I just need enough to last out a winter here, if it happens late in the year, then I can get my garden going again and be fine. Yes I hunt; fish, reload my own ammo, etc... so, no need for a 10 year stockpile.

Nic well I found a great price so, I ordered a bit extra of the really strong stuff and have a good 5-6 year supply. More of a test to see if my storage methods make it keep longer or not than serious stockpiling. :)

Nothing wrong with optimism. Far better than cynicism. However, some of us are happy fellows, family men like myself, who both enjoy our lives and our families, and are happy to be so fortunate in life. And YET, we also see on the horizon , what has been coming for a LONG time. You are correct, it could happen in a few weeks from now, few years, or maybe a few decades. Nonetheless, as I mentioned it isn't a matter of "if", it is a matter of "when", and I think it is important for ALL families to prepare.

For me, preparation doesn't mean being paranoid, worried, or completely changing your lifestyle around. Quite the opposite. For me, preparation is like I mentioned above, making sure I have enough food, water, and all the basics like batteries and everything else to keep my family safe for at least a month.

I'm optimistic in that I think mankind , whether prepared or not, always manages to adjust to whatever becomes our reality, and we continue on. However, history is a beautiful thing to study, and history teaches us that stability doesn't last, and furthermore, there are signs to watch for that are indicators of collapse, all of which are apparent now. :)

Yes, I've stockpiled several years worth of nic. More of a financial hedge than fear of a outright ban. I do think it's likely that internet sales will be banned. I don't want to have to have to pay local retail prices in the future, not to mention eventual taxes.

Exactly! And if I can contribute to the starvation of this far over reaching government by using a small space in my freezer I'm in. Let them find some other small voting segment to fund all their pie in the sky programs. I tired of being selected to financially support all their vote buying programs.

Am I stockpiling/hoarding? No, not at the moment. I see some positive signs and I see CASAA membership growing. The only thing I have done is get wire and wick, like that's going to do me any good. I will probably waste half of it trying to make coils. I bought that way back in....I think November-December? I haven't done anything with it as of yet.

If there were no positive things happening, I would probably stockpile some things. As of right now, I'm not going to do extra buying. If things change, I reserve the right to change my mind. ;)

I'm not hoarding anything again. I learned my mistake when they said Twinkies were going to be extinct and now Twinkies are back.

Now I'm stuck with a ton of Twinkies and they have a longer shelf life than I do. :p

Keep on vapin'! :vapor:

You're lucky friend. The new twinkies are smaller and they don't taste as good.

When I can I'm buying a 1,000 mls of 60mg nic base. That should last me a while.

Like people have said, they can't ban wick, wire, flavors, pg or vg because they are used in other applications. Wizard labs isn't worried. They've stated that nic is used in other applications. They are expanding operations in my home state.

This is a hard one for me. I come from a long line of "over-preparers". If you have 1 bottle of shampoo stashed in the cabinet, then 5 is better. I get it from my dad. :p

That said, I have always been an "over-stocker" of all things vaping. It is a control thing with me. Until the last few months, there were no B&M shops here in KC and I was completely reliant on online vendors for all my vaping needs. I hated that feeling. So I adopted the backup of backup of backup method pretty early in the vaping game. I also tend to make infrequent, but large purchases on things like nic liquid and cartos.

As it stands right now, I could probably vape for the next 5 years and never buy another vaping product. I hope my freezer holds up well for my nic storage. :)

Vaping was already under attack from the FDA when I started vaping almost 3 years ago. :( I don't know when, but I do strongly believe that someday FDA regulations will drastically change the world of vaping as we enjoy it today.

During these almost 3 years I have collected a stockpile :) My stockpile is now a winning situation for me. We are soon approaching retirement and I'm no longer spending money on vaping toys but putting that stock pile to good use. Yes, I'll occasionally need some batteries or flavorings or PG or VG but other then those few things I can vape for many years spending very little on things that will always be readily available. If our vaping world continues to function as it does now I'll occasionally buy some new toys or some vendor juice to enjoy because its fun but not because I need too.

You should see my closet NICnurse, I have like 30 bottles of shampoo and conditioner, over 200 razors I'd say. All for free. My wife is an extreme couponer. Just tonight I got 15 small shaving cream, with 15 dollars of overage. So technically the store payed me 15 dollars to take the shaving cream home lol.

I have 500ml of 100mg nicotine liquid in the freezer.
That should last me 10 years given that I vape less than 1ml per day of 12mg e-liquid.

I'm not using it right now, and in fact I hope I don't ever even have to open it.
I'm not going to DIY unless they make me.
I am of the exact mindset. I hope to never use it. I actually enjoy buying other peoples concoctions! I vape about 4-5 mls of 18 mg nic. I have close to 3000ml in the freezer. If it ever came to it, I would force myself to reduce the nic content in my liquid and make it last! AS I stated, for all I care, that nic could sit in my freezer indefinitely. it is an insurance policy:vapor:

Quit worrying about the FDA worry about winning battles on the local levels.
If you look at most sporting events, games arent won by the big play.
Its won by grinding it out yard by yard, lay ups, or just plain old
getting runners on base.
You think all these small assaults on ecigs here and there are by accident.
Ummmmmm maybe not, I kinda will lean toward conspiracy.
Where I am trusting at the human level, on the lager corporate level I am not.
We must stay ever vigilant we must stay proactive. Its not so much
just the fight fir us, it is the fight for the ones that follow.
Let me not stay on my soap box too long...
Worry about the FDA when the FDA do what it do.
The fight is in the now in the trenches. Emailing tweeting and when
you can showing up and voicing your opinions.
I'm done
Well said!! everyone that could send letters and show up at their legislators office, please do so! And for the new folks here, Please join CASAA!!
