Are you vaping to give up smoking all together or is it your hobby now ?

Hi, sorry about the crappy weather in your part of the world. I'm in sunny California! I quit cigarettes cold turkey about 6 months ago and simply don't believe in the nicotine addiction theories. I just disgusted myself one day emptying a very large ashtray full of butts into a paper bag that had already seen the same. Ugh! I just knew I was done right there....I quit within the week, no problem. And I was a carton and a half a week cigarette guy.
I picked up vaping back in January by picking up an e-cig at a drugstore. I've found it endlessly interesting and I could buy a new mod every month and not touch the amount of money my cigarette habit cost me monthly. So, to me, vaping is just a low cost hobby. Lots of sites, videos, and interesting people! I vape 18mg and have no plans to drop it down. I use a Vamo, The Groove, and I also have a Gripper(mech) with T2 cartomizers generally used. I just bought a couple of RBAs and they'e excellent so I think that'll be my main vaping equipment. I'm pretty much done with buying mods and am actually thinking my cost is going to drop drastically. Good luck with your new hobby!

I swapped from smoking to vaping just to save money, pure and simple, was paying well over 7 bucks a pack and going thru at least a pack a day. I did the math and figured it would be a lot cheaper in the long run to go all in E-cig and kick the butts. One of these days I may actually see some savings, but there are just so many shiny toys and tasty juices to try!

Honestly though I had, and still have, no intentions of giving up my nicotine, I plan on being a vaper for life, or at least as long as it's legal and the government doesn't tax it to death.

Pretty much got my set-up and delivery systems down to what I really enjoy, and am zeroing in on several flavors for my ADVs, now it's just a matter of replacing cartos, clearos, batteries and juices as they are used up, burnt up, or dead.

I may still add to my collections as time passes so I guess that makes it a hobby for me. When I first started it was more of an obsession trying to find what worked best for me.

!

That is great that you were able to quit so easily and immediately – good for you!

However, I think that we need to be careful in assuming that one person's experiences necessarily hold true for everybody ... just like one person being able to take or leave a drink does not negate the fact that others might struggle with alcohol addiction.

I would hate for anybody who struggled to quit smoking even after finding e-cigs, or for people who did want to decrease their nicotine level over time and had to work very hard to do so, to feel yet again that they were hearing "well if you just made up your mind to do it ..."

Im vaping to quit analogs. Im sick of being winded when i walk 2 feet... Vaping has made it POSSIBLE for me to quit (5 days analog free consecutively). No other method has worked for me. Someday i hope to vape with 0mg of nicotine, but i dont have any intention of ever pushing myself to quit vaping...

Its been a huge help to go outside to vape. I was an outside only smoker, and going outside to vape has been a tactic to soften the switch for me.

My wife and I started with the full intentions of quitting all together, but me being me, it has become a hobby. Something that I haven't had in many years and I find this one to be very enjoyable to say the least. I like all the mods and RBA's that are out there. I like mixing and fooling around. Even if I do make it to 0 nic, I don't think that I will ever stop. Either way, as a hobby I am still saving a ton of money each year just over smoking and it does seem to be safer than traditional. So with that said I can happily say I am a Vaper, and yet I am a non-smoker.

I would say I'm a "budget minded" hobbyist who started vaping to quit smoking. Trouble was vaping was so interesting I got hooked! So yea, now it's a really fun hobby for me with benefits!

Pretty much the same here but I find I am spending more than I should. I ordered a soldering station tonight to build my own mods. Should be fun.

My son smoked for 30 years and started vaping. He is now a non smoker and non vaper. He said if he ever gets the urge he will vape. Doesn't ever want to go back to analogs. He suggested my set up and juice. So after 50 years of smoking a pack and a half of real smokes I am now vaping. I haven't smoked an analog cig since I got my kit. I love the flavor of the e juice and haven't really wanted a real cig. Was so tired of all the ashes and burn holes everywhere and the nasty smell. Not to mention I was started to develop a cough. So my goal is to quit and go down to 0 nic. I am at 12-15 right now. Will I keep vaping after I go to 0? Who knows, right now I'm happy I'm not smoking....gotta take those little victories when they come!
