I started with the intent to quit smoking - the second I gave it a fair try, I quit immediately....after a pack and a half a day for 18 years. I've already dropped my nic to 12 during the day and 6 at night, so the ultimate goal is 0....but,I really really like vaping and I really really seem to have an addictive personality, so I do think it will stay a hobby for a long time.

I do not smoke. I vape.
I have vaped since the day my pv arrived. I am addicted to nicotine and caffeine and I do not see that changing in this lifetime.

I will never go back to smoking. I will learn to NET (Naturally Extract Tobacco) and purchase vg at my local pharmacy, if need be. I will never smoke again.
Happy Vaping,
Paula

I can't afford to make it a hobby. However, I believe I will always have something to vape close at hand for times of e temptation/emotional crisis.

Wow! You must have been smoking some VERY cheap cigarettes then!

The hardware can *seem* expensive, even if you are careful to purchase stuff that is designed to last a long time and reduce daily maintenance costs (like DIY, juice, RBAs, etc.) but for me the cost was still far less than buying cigarettes every month instead... not to mention future health costs.

RE: the original topic... It's been a hobby of sorts for me for the last four years, even though I've gone back to smoking a time or two in the past. I've smoked almost two thirds of my life so the "hand-mouth" habit is very well ingrained in who I am, as is the curiosity of trying that next new flavor or device. I'm like that with computers, stereo equipment and digital cameras too so I guess I knew what I was getting into when I snubbed out my last cigarette over two weeks ago ;)

Down from 36mg which I used to quit immediately, to 24mg, which was good for the week following it (I still take 24mg with me if I am at a party or out on the town), 18mg has become my strength of choice for "all day vaping" and I've started moving towards 12mg already. Will I eventually reach zero? Sooner or later! How soon? I really don't care.

Initially, I started vaping in hopes of quitting cigarettes. That was accomplished. Now, my goal is to slowly lower my nicotine level to 0mg. I started at 24mg and just end started using 18mg. That was a simple enough transition after some 3 days. Hopefully, future drops in nicotine are as successful.

During all of this, vaping has become a hobby for me. I do enjoy all of the gadgets and tinkering.

I haven't decided yet. That's what keeps me from buying a Provari. If and when I finally make that call, I'll either buy one or toss everything I have and never look back.

Used Provari get a premium price in the classifieds. So investment is lower if you quit

Started at 36 mg X 50 ml per week and now down to 2 mg X 15 ml per week. Was supposed to quit vaping last New Years but didn't and it's no big deal. For me vaping is not a hobby but a smoking cessation prog BUT I love the tinkering that's part of a successful vaping prog. Whatever your answer to the OP's post wishing EVERYONE the Best of Luck and Health.

I started vaping to stop smoking cigarettes, and I am still surprised by how easy it has been. I never thought I would be able to quit!

Now my goal is to reduce my nicotine intake, and if all goes well I expect I will try to set myself up mentally to stop vaping as well. Although I do enjoy vaping, and I am happy to continue vaping for as long as necessary, I think my ultimate goal is to be completely addiction free.

I'll Vape for as long as I possibly can, if I can get it I'll Vape, that being said I do intend o cut down the nic, currently at 24 and all new liquids ordered well be at 18, I also have no nic liquid which I use to cut 24 to 12, but no time table to get to 0 if ever don't really care since this is so much better for me then analogs. GL to all and good health.

I started off just looking for an alternative to save a few dollars and help me get off stinkies. It took me over 8 of 9 months in order to give up stinkies all together but since then within two months have dropped from 24 mg to 6 mg and now working on going 0 nic. I want to try and give up vaping all together (except occasionally socially or during rough times). Some say I have dropped nicotine level quicker than usual (which is probably true). Honestly to me one day I want to get rid of my addiction all together, I just feel that these products have allowed me to taper in the way I need in order to work myself down, so when I do quit the withdrawals will be more subtle.
