I love/hate this thing. I own two; if I really like something, I'll buy another as a spare. It took many tries until I got the wicking right, But it's a "moody" tank - sometimes it'll belch out cloud after cloud of thick flavorful vapor endlessly, sometimes it just vapes dry and thin...and this is on the same mod with the settings locked. My decks are modified with larger holes and juice channels dremeled into the bottom, that really made a difference.

I got a Griffin RTA a couple days ago and bought another tonight. It tastes 95% as good, but it is consistent and I've never managed a dry hit. And I'm the type of person who, if it's possible to have a dry hit, somehow I'll find it :p

I'm going to store my Aromamizers for a bit. I'll revisit them later.
never had a dry hit . but vaping single twisted coils around 1.2 to 1.8 ohms at 16 watts now . the juice holes ( all 4 ) are open even for single coils .
just made a plug for the other side to make the air chamber smaller . curved the the side where coil is to deflect the air up . made with foodsafe silicon putty which is used to make forms for cakes and is good to 375 in the oven . see if that works out ...just playing.

My son, who has been using my Tobeco Mini Super Tank, has been stung by a batch of bad coils. He ordered two packages, and so far, all are bad. Before he left for work, he asked if he could "borrow" one of my black Aromamizers...which he previously stated looked great on his RX200. I approved it, but quickly noticed the look on his face...the look that told me he's going to buy mine from me, leaving me with two tanks, instead of three.

My next one will be picked up as a used tank, I'm sure. I can't keep buying these at full retail pricing, and expect to call myself a cheap vaper. At least with a used one, I won't feel so bad doing some alterations such as cutting the nipple off. My wife was just a bit concerned when I told her I was taking a brand new, fresh out of the box tank to the basement shop to be cut on. However, since she's seen the work I did and how happy I am with it, she's ok with it.

What size are the v-deck screws?

M2.5x3. I ordered 30 from Mr. Metric. Screws were cheap, but much, much better than what came with the tank...shipping was as much as the order though....but I have 4 tanks and plenty of spare grub screws now.

Yup you sure can, seems like most people who do that put it between the posts, either vertically or horizontally. They say it's good. I'm curious to hear your experience with that compared to the cthulhu....for me it's a no brainer. :)

After working with this Aromamizer SC-200 (6ml) version for awhile now I have found that it just isn't what I look for in my RTA's. I can build a single horizontal coil, 2.5/3mm, Dual Twisted 30g Kanthal A-1 at aroung my preferred 1.3Ω-1.9Ω (set to 12-16 watts) and place it between the posts very easily, so no problems there. I also had no problems with the wicking either, very easily done. It's the airflow that is the problem for me. I got both the (4) hole and the (2) hole AFC bands in my package (both Black, Yeah), so the (4) hole band first, I cut the airflow down as much as I could but when I got to a certain point I started getting Harsh-ish type hits, almost like burnt (similar to a hot coil burnt, not cotton type burnt) hits, more like Lack of airflow Hot Hits. Next, I went to the (2) hole AFC band and used the holes between the posts for airflow adjustment, Same Thing as the (4) hole band did, no surprise there.

With my Cthulhu V2 I can just barely get the airflow cut down to what I like for M2L before that Harsh-ish/coil burnt taste starts, but the Aromamizer SC-200 tank can't quite get down to that level of restricted airflow before things start going south.

I finally put a Dual Vertical (half of a Roxymizer) 2.5mm, 30g Dual Twisted, 8 wrap each, KGD wicked, .6Ω build set at 27 watts and opened the airflow up to half way with the (2) hole band, and it vapes Beautifully, Stunningly Fantastic.

On occasion (a Good day), I do like what might be considered these days, a "Normal Vape Setup", Blowing Big'ol clouds running Sub-Ohm and 25+ Watts and causing "The Weather Channel" to issue Severe Storm Alerts, and in that guise the Aromamizer RDTA does do it's thing, and does it Very well, with Very Good (top notch) taste even. If that is what you like, then the Aromamizer RDTA will give it to you, in spades.

For me though, the Aromamizer RDTA is a novelty, as my smoking for 52 years has left me encumbered with very diminished lung capacity. As a result, I almost HAVE to vape just like I smoked, meaning, M2L with a Very restricted airflow setup so I can vape as comfortably as possible, yet still realize some sort of vapor on the exhale and also get my daily ration of Nic, and in that the Aromamizer RDTA is Not Up (or Down, depending on you're point of view) to the challenge.

I think that Most, Newer Atomizers coming to market these days are aimed to please the younger generation of smokers, looking to find a healthier lifestyle (without the 4000+ added chemicals) but able to still continue using Nic as their Drug of Choice, which they have gotten used to over a period of time. They can do the Deep Lung Hits, Time after Time and not bat an eye, while the older, or "more experienced" crowd are left more to their own devices (pun intended). We'll be dead soon enough (thank You R.J.Reynolds), but the younger crowd will be here for decades to come, so why not milk them for all the money that these companies can by building products that suit the younger profile of vapers more, and us M2L'ers less. That's how I see it, so I continue my journey towards Vape Nirvana.

I'm checking out the Ubertoot UTA2, The Hurricane, and the Taifun GT-S V2, One of those has to work, I hope.

I like restricted airflow as well, but not mouth to lung restricted. Usually I set my airflow at about 20% of wide open, but I also like to vape at high wattage. Most of my dual coil builds these days are between .13 and .2 ohms, and I'm usually at 75-100 watts. Been using my kennedy rda more and more these days instead of tanks, although I do still like my tanks.

just acouple of ideas for your aromamizer
as I mentioned before..took some pictures
formed a plug from silicone putty which is used in the cullunary industry food safe..and will go very high temps for baking forms .
using that contraption for my single coil builds .
it works realy nice and wattage cut down to 13 w.with the same performance ! flavor is exelent .
the coil still the same.. 4 strands 34 twisted .1.2 to 1.8 ohms . for air flow I closed everything up with metal tape and punched one hole . the twisted coil is a little unruly don't want to close up to good even compressing it while firing ..but works great have it on all 4 of my aromamizers now.

I don't know how to figure in % just how much airflow I like on a particular atomizer. I can say, that with my Lemo V1 (5ml version in Black), I have the airflow control nut set to 1/2 turn open (from the fully closed position) with 1 thin and 1 thicker o-ring sitting directly on top of the airflow control nut on the main center pin (or shaft) so that the airflow control nut cannot self adjust from my preferred setting (which I have found it does like to do over a series of tank fulls). I run that at 12-16 watts with a 30g. dual Twisted Kanthal A-1 build at 1.50Ω on my Cuboid (as I type this) and it is vaping great. I get vapor about equal to that I received when I was smoking, and that's using a Unflavored 9mg/ml with 2-3% FA Flash in a 66% PG/33% VG solution. No Burnt/Lack of airflow Hot hits. That's all I got. I wish that the Aromamizer 6ml had worked out like that, but it just needs more air than I like to give an atomizer for a comfortable vape (for me).

Finally got the Hotcig Train.

Let us know how it works out for you. It looks nice. Will it vape like I would want it to ? I do like the Aromamizer design a lot, and this one looks like it has all the positives of the Aromamizer, but is it just for high airflow and can it hold more liquid ?
