I don't understand how the tank screws down you can make those airholes line up with the coils. And I don't like the drip tip. And its not easy to fill with a dropper cap. The reasonably sized one holds 3ml. With a .2 build like would do with an RDA, I am gonna be refilling that thing 6 times a day. Since there is a need to take a juice bottle with you with that thing, it seems more simple to just have an actual RDA and drip down its wide-bore top cap and directly onto the wick. This is definitely not a game-changer.

It is a game changer because of the airflow hitting the coils directly and the bottom-feeding of the wick. Also, the tank comes in 6ml.

well I don't get it ..why do you need 65 watts ? if roxynoodle builds 4 coils I get it ! but I would choke on that .
but I went another direction ..want battery life. the very first build was a 28g 2.5 id coil 8 wraps . on the 3 post deck.
very nice vape for my taste! and that on 16 watts. tried dual coils and don't like them. last build is a twisted 30 g 3 mm coil cotton wick came out at 1 ohm on the v deck. very nice flavor but had to up my wattage to 23 watts !
what I want to try next is a single coil Clapton . everybody likes the derringer dripper and I think that is the worst I got ! burns my lips . the flavor on this is smoother and cooler then any of my drippers . and every tank I ever had leaket . they are all in a plastic shoebox all 45 or so . absolutely love this tank so the only thing a am with you is the vape band ...just used some metal tape cut to the width of the groove and opened just one hole for the single coil buils. so versatile !! but everybody likes something different sur hope you find your perfect atty . have fun.

I'm not running 65W on any of my builds either. I like them 50-56W, TBH. And they are the only atty I own running at at least 50W. The smaller Claptons I put in the Bellus are nice at 46W. All my single coil Claptoned attys are running under 25W.

Every tank leaks when placed on the side.

They shouldn't :)

I'm running 80w on my latest build, dual fused claptons 26n80/36n80 3mm vertical coils. Its keeping up great. Flavor is much better than the last build I tried. I ended up taking one of the vape bands I got with my tfv4 and punching two holes in it. Block off the side flow airholes perfectly.

hi roxynoodle
thanks for the info ...interested to know what you used for your small claptons .. inner wire gage and the wrap.
I got 30 g kanthal for the wrap but thinking of getting some 32 or even smaller . may be fused claptons with two 28 g inner and wrap with 34 g ? as usual looking forward on your thoughts .

So far I've only made basic Clapton wire with 26 core wrapped in 32. I made like 9' though. The Bellus has a cramped deck so I only used 2mm diameter, 5 wraps each I think? In one of my Aromamizers I used the same coils, but 2.5mm diameter. Both attys are giving me great flavor.

I do want to try 28 core wrapped in 34 for those cramped decks and (hopefully) lower power. I do have all these attys on dual battery mods so I'm not constantly changing batteries.

I'm not feeling real confident yet with more advanced coil builds. Heck, until a few weeks ago I never thought I would make Claptons at all, and now I'm loving them.

There is a method to get your airholes to align perfectely to your center of your coil build if you wish to attempt it. I've got 3 RTDA's two 3ml and a 6ml. On one of the 3's it came aligned perfectely and the other two lacked approximately 1/8 turn or less to align to I sanded off the base of the tank until they aligned up perfectely. The threads that secure the tank to the coil base are very fine so you do not have to take off very much metal at all. Just a matter of a few 1000th of an inch only. The method I used was to dis-assemble the tank top, then holding the tank base flat against emory cloth sand it down until the holes align perfect. Check alignment often to insure you do not remove too much. Didn't take long at all for the two I did. See the pictures that I recreated showing how I did this. Attempt this at your own risk as it could destroy your RDTA.

I'm also the user that tapped to two post airholes and inserted grub screws to block them and drilled out the to remaining coil holes out to 3.5mm for more air flow. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...a-by-steam-crave.687100/page-40#post-16618860

Thanks for the tip! :thumb:
I agree, sucking wind only serves to dilute to vape, but I'm not going anywhere near those silly rubber bands. As soon as I opened the box, I tapped and plugged the two holes for the negative posts on my v-deck with 6-32 grub screws that I had laying around (couldn't find any SS ones unfortunately). I still need to tap another turn or two to get them to sit flush, but I was too anxious to vape it... this'll do for now.

First build with 9 wraps, 24 ga @ 0.5 ohm (overall) and it's a beautiful full-bodied vape. :p
So far I'm loving it with my NET juice.

My local ACE Hardware had #6/32 Stainless steel grub screws, If I remember correctly they were about 30 cents each. Ask for Stainless steel set screws and the staff will probably know where they are. as far af tap depth goes... at 32 turns per inch and using 1/8" long grub screws you need to tap exactly 4 turns (32 divided by 8) without being tight. I wanted it to set flush with the screws tight, thus the reason I went 3 1/2 turns with the tap. after I got them in and tight, it worked perfectly.

I am a MTL vaper, thats how I smoked for 40 years, never warmed up to lung hits. This atty is a lung hitters dream, but I had to tone the airflow down, AND.... get rid of that damn rubber band..... Vertical Clapton coils on this Aromamizer are a dream vape once I adjusted the airhole to suit me.

I took a slightly different approach than some of you:
3mm OD by 2MM ID tubing. Force fits perfectly. Just slice off about a 2mm length with a razor blade & stick it in there. Pops out with a toothpick if you want to get rid of it. Did the two coil holes like this. Also notice the score mark I made for coil center.

On the two post holes I used aluminum colored silicone RTV to plug them off. Pokes out easy with a drill bit if you ever change your mind. Looks a lot better without the bright light shining on it. The aluminum color blends in with the SS well.

This thing is hitting soooooo good. Can dial up the watts, or dial them down, juice flow keeps up without missing a beat.

I don't understand the whole making a mark on it for coil location. I just look in the airholes, then you can see them.
A little harder to see once you reduce the size of the holes, and blank off two.
Plus my 57 yo eyes arent what they used to be......

You might consider getting yourself "Verified" so that you can access the Co-op section. You never know what pops up in there.
