Thanks for all the compliments guys :) We love this place too. They are trying to sell the house now and we are seriously considering buying it.. But it's a lot worse off than it looks. Leaky roofs, demolished basement.. etc. But we don't want to get kicked out. We've made a lovely home here and have been here 3 years which is the longest I have ever stayed in one place. I don't want some ...... to come in and buy the place then kick us out of our home that I worked SO hard to make "homey". It's a big investment to buy it, and the house itself is in a bad neighborhood.. But we are thinking about it. And we may have to act soon, as the same couple has come back twice now to look at the place. Today I told them "Here I'll take a picture, it will last longer." lol. They don't like me because I'm pierced up and gothy looking. Jerks.

Homeish now
Pay the 100 bucks for an independent inspector to come out and really look at the place if your even going to consider it.....please take it from a professional(Untamed used to be Untamed in Powersuits Realtor Broker)......Pay for an inspector first. There are likely problems you dont know about, knowing if they are there and how bad they are (Or Not) will make your decision process so much easier.

I agree, so much so in fact that we've already done that =D We had an inspector just a few weeks ago. There are a LOT of issues. It is a big investment, and they surely aren't getting asking price (145,000) out of us. We know for a fact they paid 45,000 for it in the first place.. and have made 30,000 from us alone in the past 3 years from rent. They've done very little work on the house as a whole. The asking price is a total joke, but we're afraid to offer anything lower than 20%. I think Sam is going to talk with the landlord and try to tactfully offer 80,000. We'll see..

COMPLETELY agree! Having a home inspection done is a must, especially if you already know of some existing problems. They will likely find more. With a leaking roof, mold is a big concern.

Good looking place Sall! Love the bat in the living room:laugh:

LOVE The pics (and idea!!) Laney!! Will def have to finish cleaning first. I'm a total pack rat! Clean freak yes.. but still a pack rat. :p I'm loving your wood floors and the parquet flooring too. love love love it. I've had wood in my kitchen for forever. lol.. my dad tried to talk me out of it (back before it was popular).. "why would you want wood in a kitchen of all places??" HA!
Anyhoo.. yes, a house is always needing something.. usually more than one something, so don't be dismayed by any work that may need done. YES get a good inspector, but just remember, the older the house, the more upkeep needs done, and when it's your own, you want to make it better, and you CAN. :)

Nitebreed - are you sure you have kids - your home doesn't show any evidence except the changing table and crib!

There is no way I'm taking pictures - they house is trashed right now and I don't care.

I'm having hard wood floor envy. But I hate to clean them.

Sallana - how are the schools in your area. The little guy will be off to school in just a couple of years - if the neighborhood is bad, and the schools are 'eh' or less, don't buy. It's not worth it. A house is just a roof over over your head. A home can be anywhere your family is. It's nice to have something you can be proud of - but it's not worth it if you become married to it fretting over repairs etc - and if the schools suck or you you can never let the little man out to play without worrying about his safety, you will be much better off moving.
