it sickens me that something liek this happens, but why did it take so many cops to subdue him? obviously he was not complying or else he would have been in the back of a cop car five mins earlier. the cops who did what they did got their sentence, what sickens me even more is when people take the reputation of a few bad cops and label all police as bad. yes their are some bad crooked cops, but there are bad crooked people all over the world. and there are millions of good cops that out weigh the bad. every time there is something bad that happens, you see it on the news, but what about every day when the cops do something good? you may hear one or two stories over the years. the media does a great job at screwing over good people "if it bleeds it leads" i know pretty well what goes on, im about to get a criminal justice degree and i took mass communication classes for 3 years. so dont let the media fool you either way RIP Kelly you shouldnt have had to die
He was mentally ill! the incident didn't have to escalate. Instead of attempting to reason with the vagrant the initial conversation consisted of the words "Do you see my fist? They are getting ready to F you up!".... Police officers are trained to reason and only use such extreme force in equally extreme situation! I see a man who had no weapons in his possession, nor did he raise his fist against a single police officer even once! Yet he was tazed repeatedly and beat to near death and if that wasn't enough, he suffered for 5 days before he finally passed away....
The two officers that are being brought up on charges have not been sentenced yet and knowing the system they will worm their way into a comfy lesser sentence, which imo is absolutely appalling! No one here was saying all officers are corrupt, though I can almost guarantee that many more incidents similar to this have been swept under the carpet and never seen the light of public scrutiny....
Though it does seem quite unfitting when you say that what sickens you even more then the death of a man, is the fact that the incident has lead to a bad reputation for all police officers alike. I believe that the average American/Human is intelligent enough to understand that not all police officers are bad
