This article is front page news today. It is on everything from CBS to Reuters to WebMD.

Apparently, nicotine replacement therapy doesn't work any better than cold turkey. I think the majority of e-cig users could have saved them the time and trouble of doing such a study and just told them it doesn't work. Patches, gum, etc etc etc are just big pharma making a buck with products that don't work.

How many times do we see ANTZ making the statement about using "proven therapy" for quitting tobacco? I guess it's proven... now proven to be completely ineffective.

Other versions of the article and other articles written about the study are far less forgiving to big pharma. The one that surprised me out of the half dozen or so I read was the LA Times. They didn't make much out of pharmas rebuttal. The last couple of paragraphs talk about glaxo-smith-klines reaction, but don't lend it any editorializing the way webMD did.
