Will my Zmax be leaving tonight? JK...I don't expect you'll know that.

But...do you know if there are any outward signs or packaging particularities that would automatically get a package flagged for any kind of inspection (as it relates to e-cig paraphernalia)?

This is a customs question. But what i can tell you is customs is actually 1 or 2 people who work at a conveyor belt and watch packages pass by through an x ray. If it looks suspicious in the screen they will remove it and open it up or put it aside along with other parcels to be looked at after.

But haha the funny thing is i thought parcels went to a completely different building to be checked but no i work literally a couple of foot steps away from the customs officers

I guess that's what I was getting at, is whether or not Customs Canada had reps in the plant, so thanks for letting us know. And I suppose this applies to ALL packages rather than just those coming from outside the country?

They dont check parcels being delivered from canada to canada. I know this firsthand because i worked with customs putting the parcels on the conveyor. I would put the canadian parcles on a different conveyor going somewhere else and international ones on the conveyor going to custom

Finally, an inside man! lol - this is going to be a busy thread :)

1) is mississauga a major processing plant? i.e. for international shipments, do they go to some major location first or straight to the closest one?

2) Is there some type of 'flagging' system in place? Some kind of a 'watch list'?

Thanks! And feel free to ignore questions that require divulging sensitive information (don't want to get you into trouble...)

If i live close to a proccesing plant and i seen in the tracking that my package is there can i go there with like a drivers license or something for ID and pick it up? or do i have to wait till its delivered to my house?

Hey there . No you cannot go pick it up . It's a factory and there's no area where one can come to pick up a parcel. The only way it's gonna get to you is when the truck gets loaded with parcels and leaves.

Hey

1. Yes it is an international plant . They deal with packages coming from countries all over the world. They also ship packages going to other countries. They do everything. Everything is sorted here and put into different trucks according to where they are going.

2. There is no watch list or flagging system other than the customs conveyor belt. They have all packages pass through them . The people who get custom clearance fast basically means the customs agent just let the parcel pass right by them on the conveyor .

So they don't have a flagging system in place? That's a surprise.
