I liked your post not because of you're feeling you didn't fit in, but because of your interests.
Liking posts. I am not sure how that works... Some posts I feel I should not like because it is the poster saying something bad happened to them. Should I like that something bad happened to them?
So what I am trying to say is do not sweat it. I do bad likes and am sorry if they confuse or hurt anyone's feelings.

Maybe you just didn't know people admired your talent and contributions to the team.
ohh I am sure that is the case but my mental afflictions prevented me from really understanding that and they still do. That is why we are on this thread.
We know better we just cannot DO what we KNOW.

I feel the same way. Sometimes I'm liking someone's courage for saying something.

I thought some of it may have been due to their intelligence and being above their peers in some subjects.

(This is still theddead's wife). You are absolutely correct about this too. Young aspies are very often far ahead of their peers in their subjects of interest, which makes discussing these topics with teachers who share a similar interest and knowledge level much more attractive than talking about pop music or teen idols or whatever "normal" kids talk about with their peers.

I think that is part of it... I also think they are more comfortable around adults...err at least I know I usually was.

    That was my impression.

Oh, I bet there were all kinds of nice girls but you didn't notice them. Or they were shy, too, and didn't stand out either.

could be, I don't know......... I was probably too busy staring at my shoes to notice :) Yep, lots of wonderful women in the world for sure.... It's just that it's way more difficult for our type because of our social weaknesses.

Sometimes for them, too, although possibly for other reasons. I have a friend who is so painfully shy she talks with her hair and hand over her mouth. A guy has to approach her. She sure isn't going to approach him :)
