In one of my tanks I'm getting some flooding/gurgling. What is a solution to this?
I've only had my Nautilus flood/gurgle on me twice. Both times was due to the temperature where my Nautilus tank was too high and it caused the liquid to thin out and it leaked down into the air chamber. One time I had to take it apart, and use a cotton Q-Tip to soak up the liquid that had gotten into the air chamber, and blow out the coil, put it back together and it was great again. The other time this happened I was simply able to press the power button on my MVP2 a couple times in short succession and the next hit I took was clear and there was the normal snap crackle pop noise from the coil indicating it was working good.
For me however, the solution to avoid the flooding/gurgling has always been to try to keep my PV as cool as possible, i.e. don't leave it sitting in a 150°f car all day or leaving it sitting out on the table in the backyard in full sunlight when it's 110°f outdoors. High temps seem to make my liquids thin out and cause such issues. If I do have to leave it in the car for any length of time I turn it upside down so that it's sitting in my cup holder on the drip tip down, so that when the liquid does thin out, it's not dripping into the air chamber and instead really has nowhere to go but a small amount that is already in the coil that might flow down the drip tip but which is really simple to grab a Q-Tip that I keep in the car and run it through the drip tip and around the connector of the driptip to dry it if it did leak any down due to high heat.
I don't mind rebuilding the coils for my Protank 2 glassomizers but I've never tried it on the Nautilus, don't think I ever would. Now I keep some wire and the necessary tools to rebuild the protank 2 coils for emergency only, like if we have a coil die on us and it's after hours of the local vape shop then I'll wrap up a coil really quick and use it until the vape shop opens the next day. Although I try to keep extra coils on hand for such occasions but there are those times...
