We just got ours today; I ordered two from vapage.com last week. So far very pleased with them :)

I did too. Looks like they will be here today. I can't wait to try them out. After this I'm not buying anything else for the rest of the year. I really need to stay away from this forum. It costs me too much money!:mail:

where's it leaking from? sure you didn't accidently loosen the base when adjusting the air flow? also, have heard some say to not put it on the smaller hole if you have a flooding issue. good luck.

it was leaking from the air hole, and it looked like from the base...i was vaping the widest air hole

last night i got home and it was still being stupid, even almos threw it because it wouldn't come of the top of the mod, took it apart again and cleaned it, let it sit, finally when i was done with my chores i filled it back up and so far it's working well....the one thing i did notice was the post was pushed up so i pushed it back down, not sure if that had anything to do with it, and it's been working fine, except i'm still looking at it with a suspicious eye

This happened to me after my first refill. The coil head was slightly loose and caused the eliquid to leak out the air hole. Now I make sure it is tight before putting it all back together.

The first thing I did with mine was take it apart and clean it before he first fill, so I didn't really notice if the head was loose on arrival. But I can say this has been a flawless topper for me. I have never had a leak no matter what position I carry it in (even drip tip down), and that I really appreciate. I really like the draw, vapor and flavor with this tank. I'm sure now that you've made sure that the head is tight it will quickly become a favorite tank for you.

I've seen so many great reviews about this. I do have a few questions if anyone can kindly answer them please.

1) Is the nautilus really better than the aero tank? Or a pro tank 2 with the aero afc base?
I bought my FIL the protank2 clone from FT and was thinking about buying him the aero afc base.

2) I've seen Rip rebuild one and it only seemed a little more time consuming compared to the pro tank heads. My question though is how long do the regular coils last? And is the price of the replacements worth it compared to the the protank style?

I'm still debating on making a $40+ purchase for the new system plus replacement coils or if I should just buy the aero base for the protank.

Not loving the Nautilus so much now - on the first fill of a couple ml, it worked great. Then I left it for a day or so (almost empty), filled it up, and I'm getting massive burnt hits even if I go down to 3.0 on the voltage (1.5ohm head). Something's definitely wrong with the wicking because if I cover the air hole, draw without firing, then uncover it and fire/hit, it's okay for a hit or two. Then it goes right back to being dry/burnt. Sitting overnight, opening and closing it again, tapping it, nothing's worked. I had planned to rebuild the head anyway, but I wouldn't have expected this to bug out on me so soon.

I just took it apart again, removed the coil, wiped everything down (including a q-tip into the connecter where the coil goes), and so far it's better, though time will tell. I think part of the problem might have been (totally speculating here) that I filled that puppy up as high as I could and it might have been overfilled at first. However after vaping it down to 5ml and opening/closing it again I still had the problem. After this last round of taking it apart and cleaning it I'm able to take a full draw with the airhole wide open and it's okay at 3.2 but any higher and it starts to get crispy. :) So maybe give that a shot?

Edit: Just came back to my desk and... back to square one. Still getting burnt dry hits. Man, this is a bummer, I am sure I can rebuild it but don't want to put the effort in yet :p

Have you tried switching to the 1.8 ohm head that also comes with it?

Have you watched PBasardo's review of the Nautilus? He goes in depth on the use of airflow vs. juice thickness.

Airflow is used to control the amount of vacuum. This can be used to prevent gurgling at one extreme to burnt hits at the other extreme. Basically, if its flooding open the airflow up, if you are not getting enough juice to the head (burnt hits) close it down some to cause increased vacuum thereby drawing more fluid in to the head.

Start at 8:28 End 9:02 then again Start at 28:06 End 30:15

Hope this helps, I found it to be true with the Aerotank.

Would like to have the Nautilus but at $20.00 for 5 replacement heads just can't talk myself in to yet.

Edit better explanation Start at 20:10 End 20:56, same link as above.

I used to have the gurgle. I used to have dry hits. But I solved it completely and it's so simple!!!! What is it? Tip it over for a minute or more. It cleared it all up. In fact, the more I did it the less I had to do it. Maybe a time or 2 a day now and I love the tank like new again.

Good to hear you found a solution Grimmda. I have had a great experience with this tank, but found I have to get the juice flowing when I first fill a tank. Once I get it vaping right after a fill it performs flawlessly without having to tip or use primer puffs through the rest of the tank. But I do use primer puffs when I first fill until I get good vapor from it. Generally doesn't take more than 30 seconds to get the juice to start wicking right.

I also found the wick going through the coil is not very tolerant of high voltages. I vape at 3.4 to 3.6v on my Provari. The one time I turned it up to 4.2 it vaped great with lots of vapor for a while, but I burned the silica wick going through the coil and got that burned nasty taste. I took it apart and saw the burned wick and knew it was done. So I use that one for recoils... which work great BTW. The polyfill around the outside didn't get burned. I've rebuilt it 3 times now, just to try different coil rebuilds, and it really does rebuild easily and stands up to multiple rebuilds well. I can see this will rebuild many times as long as I'm careful pulling out the old coils and don't mess up the polyfill around the out side.

This morning I watched a review by RIP TRIPPER on YouTube. The Aspire Davide coils have issues. He collected information from 10 people who purchased the heads and found only 40% of the heads work properly. That is a really low success rate no matter how you look at it. I have the Nautilus and so far the two original heads did not function i.e. poor vapor, very thin, poor taste. Now i'm trying heads from the blister back and two so far do not work. Only have three to go. Looks like mine will have even less than a 40% success rate. It's apparently great when it works but really poor when it doesn't. If you're having issues like me, this is probably the cause. It comes down to the coil wires. Two should be outside the rubber grommet and two inside. If they are not placed properly, it will cause issues.
