So, I am sure that you veterans are tired of answering this question, but I purchased one of the mall vendor type ecigs, and want to move on to something more economical, and that will last a bit longer. When I used the ecig, I smoked it like I would my normal smokes, (pack to pack and a half a day) and they ran out waaaaaaay to fast. I am currently looking into getting another device to vape with. Suggestions? Keep in mind that I would like to keep it under my 30 dollar a week smoking habit, and the initial purchase should be $75 or less. (although I have found an Ego-T, 2 for $80, and that is do-able, but will severely limit my start up funds for liquid.) Also, I need to find a reliable, respectable supplier for the juice, while maintaining a price level that will justify vaping and not smoking.

I would get an Echo kit for 60.00 and comes with two 1300 mah batteries and two 3 ml cartos. You can get them at Echo Series | Cropduster901.com or here Coolvapes, The home of the echo
This is a review by DonVaBoomVapes http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-vapes-beautiful-automatic-mega-fat-batt.html The battery lasts me about 18 hrs and the carto lasts about 12 hrs so you have an all day vape without changing batteries or cartos. I love the new generation auto battery, they make vaping more enjoyable. Here is a beautiful picture of the stainless 650 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ul-automatic-mega-fat-batt-3.html#post3360111

I would stay away from a tank system as you're learning about ecigs. Atomizers and cartomizers are a fine place to start. Once you've mastered these, if you find you're longing for something else, consider tanks or mods. I tried the eGo Tank atomizers and did not like.. In addition to costing more than a normal 510 atomizer, both standard and LR atomizers wicked poorly and tasted burnt. I just didn't want to take the tank completely apart and mess with all that. I want to fill and vape.

A lot of people here will however, point out the fact that the standard eGo is a great model to start with. I like it for the 510 threading, which is versatile.. Most of the new atomizer and cartomizer designs are made for 510 threads, and the fat batts (eGo, Riva, etc) are at the center of all the buzz.

You can't go wrong with an eGo or Riva. I own both, and prefer the eGo myself. I drip with Low Resistance atomizers, and use Boge cartomizers.

I use liberty flights for my hardware (liberty-flights.com). You can get a starter kit for 30-40 bucks and have half of your funds left for juice. That would be a great start!

Good luck!

You can get a Riva Lite Bundle from Liberty Flights for $29.99, or better yet, their Carto Deluxe kit which comes with two Boge cartos & a case—a killer deal @ $34.99: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Bear in mind the money you spent at that mall kiosk bought you not only an e-cigarette, but a serendipitous pearl of wisdom: don't ever buy an e-cigarette from a mall kiosk.

Pheonix I did the same thing the super slim ecigs are not practical and expesive. Check out you tube for some ideas just be careful. I have a volcano inferno but almost any 510 model will work great. It was $60 dollars I think. came with a usb passthrough which is really cool free shipping but there is better deals out there. Dripping is the cheapest. you will need spare atomizers and ejuice no matter what you get. Madvapes is agreat website to look around in. I can't vouch for this yet but I bought a (assembled) box mod and its in the mail. If I was to do start over, this is what I would have purchased in the first place. Im still working on my go to vendor for juice. There are some places that are cheap but you get what you pay for. Again you tube is helpful here. Mad vapes/vapor renu/Gourmet vapor cheap-but hit and miss. Everyone seems to like tastyvapor, diy flavorshack, mrs.ts bakery etc....but they are more expensive hope it helped

I have to agree with those who recommend the eGo/Riva or any of the large-battery PVs that use the 510 connector threading. You can get a fine kit for $30 to $45. Many come with a bottle of juice too. Just check out our Forum Suppliers button at the top of the page. The 510 threading offers amazing versatility and you can always find them in stock somewhere. Endless variety of carts, attys, cartomizers etc. to choose from. Personally, I would just go with a kit that has standard cartomizers for now. They are great to start with and will deliver a very nice vape. Atomizers with cartridges are also popular but a bit more fiddling around. However, the atomizer with something called a drip-tip is very handy for trying out new juices. I use all three variations but use the cartos most. Many people find that Liberty Flights has the best prices on the Riva version of the eGo. $30 is hard to beat! I personally have used Mad Vapes and My PV Shop for a lot of my hardware. Many fine vendors are represented here. Most deliver incredibly fast too.

Best of luck!

I'll chime in with an alternative... :) Though, honestly, the 510, Ego and others mentioned here are awesome places to start and will completely blow away any mall kit in performance and price. Don't spend more than $60 for a good kit. Save the rest of the money for juice!

I'll throw in the KR Vgo with an 808 thread available at Vapors Heaven and Got Vapes. VH's is the 1300mAh version and Got Vapes is the 650 mAh version, both at 3.7V. It works with all 808 cartomizer systems and 901 threaded attys, as well, like the excellent Vapor Kings 901 atty.

I prefer the 808 cartos over the 510 style. Just a personal preference, of course, but they're easy to use, vape nicely and quick to refill. There's also CE2s from VH and the Vortex and CE2s from Got Vapes if you prefer filler-less cartos.

I don't think I could pick just one place for juice! There's so many good ones out there! If I was forced to, I'd probably go to Vapor Kings, because everything I've tried from them has been perfectly tasty and is reasonably priced. Very reliable company. Of course, they have a very nice 510 Ego starter kit... hmmm....

Good luck!

LF is a great place to start - make sure you click on the 20% discount on the top left of the page. And I believe the Carto Deluxe kit has been sold out for quite a while. pity Also, I noted the T-Rex Deluxe set doesn't come with a wall charger and is 650mah. However, they are stocked up on boge LR cartomizers. :)

wondering how much juice does the atomizer use per fill on the Riva510?
All 510 atomizers are used by either Just dripping on the bridge of the atty, or using a cartridge that you drip in and snap it on the atty. If you were talking about a cartomizer, it is a one piece design with a atomizer built in. I like the Boge cartomizer because they hold more fluid so don't need to top off as often, as a cartridge does. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I almost made a big mistake, then. I wanted something that I could just use during work, since I work at a factory as a machine operator and there wouldn't be a lot of prep time allowed to vape as I go.

I just ordered the E-Go carto kit from MadVapes and will give feedback here when I get it and use it for a bit. Thanks to all that posted for the info and opinions.
