At 18mg, I can't stop vaping, no buzz - at 24 mg, nice buzz and don't have to vape - am I the only one?

Kinda hard to relate here, I haven't gotten high off nicotine since I was like 15 or 16 years old and smoked less than a pack a week...and even then I can't say it was necessarily a cool thing - sometimes a fun head rush for 10-15 minutes, other times a piercing headache, cold sweats, nausea (should have taken my cue that smoking wasn't a good thing back then, huh?).

Honestly I'm going to assume since this is an old thread resurrected the OP has figured out by now that the buzz goes away once the body becomes accustomed to regular nicotine intake anyway, which it sounds like the case from Balkan's recent post. I say good idea on dropping the nic down to 12, if you enjoy vaping as a hobby that's cool - if your doc thinks there's some benefit to nicotine then I guess he knows more than me, but I'd still lean toward 0 nic. I started vaping 12mg and cut my smoking from about 15 cigs a day to 4-5, then upped to a mix of 12mg and 18mg juices and dropped the analogs completely. Once I'm sure the quitting is for good I want to taper down to 12mg full-time, then 6mg or even 0 - even though I genuinely like smoking and don't plan on quitting vaping as it's a suitable substitute, the goal is to eventually ditch the nicotine, which I think is the goal of a significant number of members here.

Your mileage may vary though, Balkan, so as long as you're getting what you want out of this whole thing I say good on ya - vape on, Wayne!

Ive heard something like "2 daily pack smokers should vape higher nic"
would weight also be a probable factor of this?
Like if we took 2 people that have never smoked in their life. One smaller sized and one bigger sized and we gave them both 18mg nic which would get the buzz?
Im just thinking because people say heavier set people need more alcohol to get drunk then smaller set people. Idk this is the way my mind thinks when i stay up late.

I use 12 mg of nicotine. I started out on the Blucigs H (which is 24 mg, if I am not mistaken) However after I began to only taste burnt from cartomizers (all brands of them, not just Blucigs) I switched to the Ego twist and started using tanks, and right off the bat I realized that 24 would make me sick, and 18 would make me sick after a few puffs.. so I went to 12.. Never had a single urge for a cigarette... I smoked a pack and a half a day of Ultra Lights for about 14 years or so.. The only reason I don't go lower or no nicotine, for some reason the taste of my favorite juices taste really horrible with no nicotine :/

Please, anyone that is not already addicted to nicotine, don't get hooked on it thru vaping. Vaping is wonderful and there's lots of great e-juice flavors without nicotine. Nicotine messes with your blood pressure and lots of other stuff, I know from personal experience. I'm only doing it now to get off stinkies and then hopefully someday be able to reduce the nicotine level in my e-juice.

Those of us that were daily smokers dont vape for a buzz..We vape to quit smoking..So by wanting a buzz off of it is exactly what is gonna take it from us and try to make it so we need a script to get or take buying them off the internet..If your looking for a buzz have a couple of beers or a glass of wine..That is not the purpose of vaping..We vape to save our lives and be around for our kids not for the *buzz* that i dont understand you saying you get and ive never had from vaping..

Apparently, you have not visited the "show us your plume" thread... ;-)~ There are as many reasons people vape as their are people. Many vapers have no intention of quitting. In fact they want take their vaping to new heights. Just because your body is so used to the buzz you don't notice it anymore does not mean you are not vaping for a buzz. If you think you are not your just kidding yourself.

You seem to be implying that the vaping community is an exclusive club and the only right to passage is having smoked cigarettes. Who are you (we) to define the purpose of vaping? How many cigarettes would the op have to smoke before he could pick up an electronic cig and not get flack about it? Maybe if we give him enough grief, he will go buy a pack of smokes instead.

"it gave me a nice buzz" / "no buzz" :(...

I keep reading "24 mg" is for those who "smoked 2 packs a day" - well guess what - I never smoked cigarettes in my life other than socially with friends and I'd puff them rather than smoke for real, and I love vaping because it is a completely different experience.

So am I crazy or what?

That really ...... me off!:mad::nah:
I've gotta be one of the biggest marshmallows on ECF, as I never get angry with anything said. Water off a ducks back.
But this guy! ...! If you want to get high, go drink a beer, or better yet do an 8-ball and go play in the highway.

Listen B, what you wrote is exactly the kind of juicy crap that gets read in state houses, and congressional committees as justification to crush this fledgling lifesaving e-cig industry. They now have public-written-testimony from a "varified" "full member" of ECF, who just wants to get "buzzed" on nic, simply for the sake of ...copping a buzz!:glare:
... r u thinking son? ...For real?

Why does this bother me? Because I was adicted to cancer sticks BIG TIME! I smoked rollies for the last 15 years of my 2 decade coffin-nail addiction. I thought I'd never quit tobacco. I tried everything to quit.
Then the electronic cigarette came along and ...basically saved my figgen life.:headbang: It took me about 6 months to transition from analogs to e-cigs. But I did it. And EVERY TOBACCO ADDICT should have the same lifesaving tool available to him or her.

By all means, go vape, vape away pal, vape till ur blue. But dont do it with nicotine.
If you want a headrush, go get a belt and find a doorknob!
Please, just leave the nic to ppl who want nothing more then to avoid lung cancer, emphysema, vascular and heart disease and all the other reasons we wanted to break free from the stinkies.

This is actually the advice I was given when I bought my kit. (brick and mortar)

"you smoke 2 packs a day, then you should use 24mg"

There is a basis for this. Avg. cig is about 0.7 mg nic and x 40(cigs per day) = 28

so 24 mg -28 mg would be about right to vape.

A friend of mine smokes Sterling ultra lights, 0.3mg of nic ........so 20 x 0.3 = 6 and she really can't vape over 6 mg. nic. ---- we actually tested this concept, she got naseuous and sick at 12mg

Nicotine absorption and function within the body is entirely different than alcohol .. therefore doesn't go by body weight.

* Alcohol is metabolized through the gastric system(stomach) to the hemopoetic system(blood stream) and processed by the liver as sugar. alcohol by volume affects inebriation of the individual based on individuals weight by quantity consumed over time.

** Nicotine is absorbed through inhalation through the lungs( tissues and mucosa linings of the oral cavity(mouth),as well) and follow a direct delivery through chemical composition to the receptors of the brain. Due to direct delivery- each individual is affected differently based on an achieved MG of inhaled nicotine without any characteristics derived from volume.... weight of the individual doesn't have an outright affect on absorption or processing of the nicotine in the system. Gastric processing of natural nicotine found in foods does have a slight basis to determine affect based on weight!!

Hope this helps!! SB
