As vaping gains popularity, we will be seeing more never smokers starting to vape.

Better they learn here than from those that are only interested in making money
Very true....... although I don't spent that much time in new members section, I have been on and off since joining and this is the first time I have read a post from a non smoking athlete, just caught me off guard.

Ohhh ok thank you! I've been confused on the levels
I figured you wouldn't know. ;)
It takes time to learn all this stuff. I still remember thinking that there is too much stuff to take in and understand. We were all new to this at one time too. :)

Sometimes we forget what it was like when we first started vaping. :D

I haven't really seen that many really new vaper questions in a long time. Not with all the vape shops we have now. Back when I fist started vaping, new members was filled with people asking these basic types of questions. There were no vape stores to get any hands on experience.

weird, i would smoke a cig outside my gym (get weird looks), run for 2 miles on the treadmill, then go outside and smoke again (get even weirder looks), then weight lift for 2 hours LOL no shortness of breath and neither with vaping

Hi I'm new to vaping and I'm an athlete. I realized after I vaped I had a heavy feeling in my lungs and when I run I have a shorter breath before vaping. I'm scared and worried my breath won't come back to normal. Please help. Thanks

Just curious:

But if you are Not using an e-Cigarette to Quit Smoking, or to stay Off Cigarettes, why did you decide to Start Using an e-Cigarette?

Devan, as a non-smoker and an athlete, I guess I'm wondering why in the world would you ever want to start vaping...?!

someone sold me this setup. It's a mini velocity rda though. Is that still bad?

I would say yes... first off, its a hybrid mech, your questions seem to imply you are very new to vaping, a Smpl mod is an Advanced Users mod... When using mechs, one should be well versed in Ohms law to be able to determine the correct coil build is safe for the batteries one has chosen. Using an atty with a low profile + 510 pin can lead to a direct short of the battery if assembled incorrectly... better to be safe than sorry...
If you are serious about vaping, consider getting a regulated mod ( one with a control chip) and learn/experiment with that, once you become familiar with Ohms law and coil building, then revisit the Smpl with a safer atty...

and Im sure who ever sold you your setup will contradict what we/I have mentioned here...

if you feel adventirous, put the atty on tight and then install battery and tighten the bottom cap all the way and watch it vent... ( Explode!)
since there is so little clearance between the negative threads of the atty and the + pin, the top cap of the battery flexes enuf to allow for a direct short when the atty is firmly depressed into the top of the battery....

I would at least find a new atty with an extended + pin... TBH, I wouldnt use the setup you have...

First, what kind of athlete are you? Are we talking billiards, chess, bowling, golf, bicycle racing, track, ice hockey, checkers???? What is your passion/poison?

I use to be an athlete of sorts, land could ride stationary rollers for an hour at max VO2 no problem. But I did not smoke and did not vape.

And no... we are not vaping antifreeze.

Depending on what position you play, you might be able to get away with it, and make it in to college, but if you were my son, and I was in control of your training, I'd be very careful with max VO2 losses. The body runs on oxygen and at max volume, there isn't room to play with. Max is Max, and anything else is LESS. You either have it or you do not.

I don't know at what level you participate at, but I would be careful with your next move.

That said, I'm no athlete now. I'm 55, and have given up on all athletic pursuits. I have rollers at home and my racing bike, and I will be getting on them to get back in shape...but it does not make me an athlete. I enjoy life too much, like vaping, having a few beers, and it's not in my plans to be plating AAA hockey or making the A-Squad anywhere.

Decisions. Decisions. Make them and stick with them. Be true to your goals. See what you can do. Sky's the limit.

A lot of my friends do it, and I just wanted to try it out.
@Robino1 Here's a classic response for you. ;)

Best thing I heard all day. Just a fad and BY ALL MEANS, do not jump off a bridge if they do. ;) Hope you get it sorted. :D And by the way, Hello and Welcome to the forums.
