I would like to use the Diver as a dripping atomizer on my 510 pipe. Do I need the Grail in order to use it for dripping?

Look at some posts on this thread from yesterday where I was asking about and reporting on my experience using the Diver as a dripping atomizer outside of a tank (yes, it can be done without a Grail).

This is the 306 version.
Diver dont need in order to work a special tank. As always said any 35mm tank with tight end caps are the right tank for the Diver
U can take a look of prototype scuba tank here

Konstantinos, what materials are used in building the scuba tank? I'm thinking that would fit nicely with my incoming Precise ELA.

So, a bit of help/perspective here. I mentioned a bit back that I was getting a bit of gurgling/overfeeding on the first diver I set up. I've had a bit more time to experiment and observe what's going on and just wanted to know if 'I'm doing it wrong' or if this is to be expected.

On the first unit, I tore it down, and snipped the wicks up just a bit shorter. Ran another half tank through it, and it seemed fine. Filled the tank, and it actually seemed like it was running a bit lean... not dry hits, but seemed to not be feeding properly. As the tank started to empty, the gurgle came back, but at least now it is feeding. I had the same gurgle on the second unit as well. Basically, it seems like the wicks are just barely over feeding, and it's only after use and then letting it sit (standing up or on its side). It's just enough fluid to get into the bottom air channel and gurgle. One pull gets rid of it. It will leave a drop of liquid on the connector of my mod, but that's it.

Make sense? any advice? It will be a bit before I can rebuild, as the wicks I ordered haven't been shipped yet (no idea what's up with that).

The only slight flooding issue, which I have experienced, is only when the juice level is just above the solitary juice feed hole, as I chain vape. For me, the atty heats up the lower volume of juice. Thus, thinning it out and affords a slight bit of flooding, which is quickly remedied after 1 to 2 fired pulls/draws. Now, as I have noted, this only occurs when I chain vape and I do mean chain vape.

On another note, using a standard length 35mm tank x 22mm∅, I have had the best Diver performance when the said tank has been filled between 1/2 and 4/5 full with regard to consistent feeding. If I fill the tank to its maximum capacity, I do not get a consistent juice feed, until the noted juice levels, which is fine by me.

ETA: Having noted the above . . . Personally, I feel that it is also wise to follow Atmistique's recommendation with regard to using a NR-R-NR configured coil assembly. Using strictly R wire, the Diver will work. However, using only R wire may create additional heat. Thus, creating unnecessary and unwanted potential flooding of the Diver.

Thanks Andy, that really clears things up! Sounds like it is currently performing exactly as it should (now I don't have to worry about getting in there and tearing something up).

Konstantinos, you keep spending my money with all these toys you're making... I'll be looking to purchase more divers w/o the flange as soon as they're available =)

eratikmind thanks a lot for giving your help to narcolepticltd
Pls forgive my late replies today but us u understand today is one of the difficult days.
The Divers without the flange we will have them in Saturday morning.
Next Monday it will begin the production of the scuba tank and after that the Grail.

We have an idea and i need your opinion:
We think to made a simple tank-shield who can put it inside the tank while u take of the diver from it.
With this simple tool u dont have to worry when the tank is full (to change the resistance for example).

You're quite welcome, Konstantinos.

Hmm . . . I like your thinking with regard to the tank-shield, as an option. I am quite anxious to see what you might come up with, as I would like a scuba tank.

That's a great idea. Something like a really long 'Slap yo mama' tool that can also be used for easier filling of your tank, or a really long drip tip with the same diameter of a Diver (or standard carto).

I think something like this might work.

That should say "made longer that tank"

Thanks Konstantinos. I will try it with 32G (.20) when I receive the order I placed.

Hi finagle69 did the thicker wire fix your leaking? With the original setup that came with it I had no leaks but after I rebuilt It won't stop leaking :( the only thing I think I have different is my NR wire is thin not sure the gauge tho but thinner than the original one :( i am using 2 strands 2mm wick and the number on my wire is 30 it's the thinner of my wire my other one which is thicker says 28
