And, I quote ^ again.

I have wasted at least 10mm of good juice and that's being conservative. Again, I am very familiar with ekowool and silica. I use both in my Ithaka's, Penny, Ody's, a killer in my UFS, etc..
I have set this diver up many times and it holds juice until I draw very lightly and it leaks out as fast as I fill the tanks.
Honestly, there is no magic to the wicking medium. If anything, wicks typically don't wick fast enough for fast/chain vaping. They wont overwick. In fact overwicking is really a misnomer as the juice/airflow may be supplying too much juice to the wick. This is not overwicking, this would be too much juice flow to the wick.

"I suspect something similar is happening with the Divers. Experienced folks are so adept at creating highly efficient wick configurations, to the point that too much juice is drawn in and floods out the pin."

Kat, as I have said there is nothing to get crazy with on a diver wick. nr to r wire and wrap a single wick. Poof done. Ive used 1.5 and 2.0 single strand eko and stacked 1.5 eko. I also have used 2 and 3mm silica.

Mine is not overwicking, it is leaking right out the pin every time.
My enthusiasm is waning.

Idaho, I feel for ya brother. I notice mine will leak, well more like a very VERY light drip, when the tank is near empty. On the SnP tank though, man.... I twist the top, go to fill and it's like gush city out the bottom pin.

I like the Diver enough, suspect this is all pressure related issues, but damned if I can figure out how to resolve them thus far.

Yes, seems like so. As air tends to travel on the path with least resistance?

Agreed. I am going to try wearing a tank with Diver on a Hippo for a few days, and always close the air shut when I'm not using it, see if I get any leakage then. If there is none, this should confirm the air pressure differential.

Again, just to reiterate: The only leaks I've had which would have spilled over into my pocket were due to my crappy setups. All "unexplained" leaks have been, as Konstantinos mentions, 1-2 drops, enough to wet the 510 connector and leave a small amount of liquid on the Paps Lux top cap.

Yes, I'm being picky here. Perhaps annoyingly so. And I will continue to be thus, because the flavor and vapor I get out of the Diver is worth the hassle.

Hi Larzis, I read somewhere that the Diver is prone to flood/leak during filling when the wickhole is in the tank. I always fill mine with the wickhole out of the tank with either the carto driver or push down the diver from the top with a same diameter drip tip. After it's filled, I'll close the lid, push back in the Diver with the wickhole facing downwards. Opens up the fill hole again to normalized the pressure, then slowly take out the cartodriver and put on the drip tip.

You know..... I read this and go "Duh! Why the hell did I not think of this?"

Thanks :)

Yep, that's the best way. That's what I do too (posted it @#1107) and it never leaks/drains while topping up. But later, there's always a wetness on the Diver's +ve pin and a drop on the mod's 510 post.

Top-up technique:
Plugged Cartodriver, removed SnP's bottom cap, pushed the Diver down till it's air-hole was out of the tank. Loosened SnP's top cap to align its fill-holes. Syringed thru one of the fill-holes. Stopped when the juice was just touching the brim of the top-cap (yes, didn't fill it full). Pushed the Diver back inside. Now tightened the top-cap -- and then removed the Cartodriver. Kept it to to settle down for a minute - then vaped. No gurgle, no flooding, no dry-hits. Nice, clean vape![/FONT]

Interesting...

I have a VPX with a top fill port screw and I don't remove the Diver when filling ie, the wickhole is still in the tank.. I fill via the top fill port with a syringe and I am not getting leaks.. Every now and then I will have less than a drop or very minor condensation but nothing major.

I have not tried my 2nd Diver in the tank yet but I may do so tomorrow. I mainly got the 2nd Diver to use with the Grail but now I am curious to see if it will leak in a tank..

Edit to add: I might not be getting leaks because air is escaping out the fill hole as I fill the tank..

Not sure but this is an interesting topic to follow..

I just got my 2nd Diver and 1st Grail today from Phiniac.com in the hopes of having a 2nd Diver AND a Grail. Wrong! I forgot that the Grail uses the base of the Diver.

I thought I knew how to assemble the Grail. Wrong! I shredded the silica (don't ask) and had to rebuild. I don't like silica anyway so I rebuilt using folded over 1mm cotton braid. After putting the cup in correctly this time it works great. I only put in 15 drops but I'm sure I could have gotten 20 in there. I'll try ekowool next time. So now when I have to reload juice I don't know how many drops to add so that is an on going learning experience. So far I'm really liking this thing. :)

I would like it even better if I could buy just the Diver base so I could use my 2nd Diver in a tank as planned. Can we buy just the base?

Does anybody here experience darkened juice towards the end of a tankful? I'm not sure if it's due to the type of juices I'm using or it's the Diver. I have to dry burn mine everyday. Do you guys do the same?

I'm having all tobacco based juices right now. Bobas, Gorillaz and some other locally made ones.

I've gone through several tankfuls of juice with my Diver and haven't seen any discoloration like I do with my Penny but I don't use tobacco flavor. I do dry burn occasionally and brush off the ash and crude but it's so easy to make a new setup that I only dry burn once in awhile.

Bright spot....Received another Diver along with the Grail. Easy set up, easy fill, easy dripping. I love it! Just need to get a couple longer Dtips.
When putting the pin in and mating it with the ceramic, it was much smoother than my other. There is no struggle and no leaks.
hmmm.

Emailed you brother Konstantinos!
