So another update / confirmation

I have refilled twice, each time putting a few ml in the tank then vaping to where I normally get gurgling..

V2 with V2 pin in the Billet Box using the supplied ready made cup.. As noted above I did not cut the lower silica off like is recommended for tank use.

No gurgling whatsoever, not even a hint of gurgling when I reach that magic spot just about the juice slots..

Refilling with the tank inside the Billet Box and using the ball does cause flooding. If however I remove the tank and fill with the use of a carto tool then no flooding at all after a refill..

So far so good.. Will keep testing this out..

Konstantinos.. What sized wick is used in the included ceramic? Is it 2mm doubled over thus amounting to 2 strands of 2mm?

Thank you Q for directing me to this thread!! I just received my Diver v2 through a swap with a forum friend. I hope to get it set up in the next couple days and see how it performs! I placed an order tonite with Atmistique for a scuba tank, driptips, etc.!! Any noob pointers for the diver will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Guys,

Just received my 9 month marathon run of trying to get a Billet Box. I had previously bought 2 Diver v2's waiting for the BB to arrive.

Now having all sorts of issues with getting the Diver to work right. The first one inserted and the negative wire snapped off whilst putting it together, creating a non circuit. So then used the 2nd premade coil and it tasted not bad for a few puffs then leaked. Ejuice basically dripping out of the centre pin.

I built a micro coil with a lot of hassle with cotton. And although It works the taste is not what I'm used to. My question is why do they use both Resistance and Non Resistance wire to build these? How much change in taste would just Resistance wire Only give? I have not got any non resistance wire.

Although my Billet Box is beautiful I want it to taste great as well, hopefully with little to no hassle.

I come from the world of Kayfun Lites and Taifun GT's with micro coils and cotton. I hope I can get a taste similar and a setup quick and as painless as they are.

If anyone can offer the best hassle free way of setting this Diver v2 and the Billet Box up without leaks and with great taste, please let me know.

Thank you if you can offer some guidence.

Opdee :)

#1 reason you get leaks in any carto-style atty is not enough wick. With the v2, make sure there is enough cotton in the v2 side slots to completely cover the slots, but avoid using so much cotton that it is packed in, else you get dry hits.

The slots in the ceramic may be too narrow to get the right amount of cotton. The right amount of cotton of the slows will get choked in the ceramic slots. Akdare is testing a ceramic on which she dremeled the ceramic slots to be a bit wider. I build my coil slightly raised above the slots, so the wick passes partway over the slots instead of passing though them. I just rebuilt my v2 in my Billet last night this way, 30g R and 30g NR microcoil at 1.9 ohms, vaped though over a half a tank, zero issues.

It takes a bit of time to get used to the amount, but once you get it right, you will get it right every time.

As with any atty.

Just to add
About the negative wire: if your ceramic is loose inside the Divers base just make a loop or "U" in the wire. This helps the ceramic sit tight inside the base.
Use of only res wire: many people said that they dont see major differences i personally think that i take ~20% lower taste. If you dont want make your own non/res wires keep in mind that many-many shops (also in our e-shop) have ready joined wires in very good prices.

PS. Kat welcome back

I deliberately cracked the base an old, beat-up ceramic and tested in my v2 in the Scuba. Worked fine. I find the v2 is much more forgiving of sloppy CE2 cups than the v1 was.

I do not use silica or Ekowool in my attys other than drippers. Instead of completely clipping the top strand of the two silica strands, I would keep part of the strand intact. In the video for building, the top strand is clipped to the ceramic. Try undoing the threads of the top strand before clipping ,and only clip half the threads of the top strands, so you have 1.5 strands of silica left long which will then be trimmed at the slots once you close the v2 up.

P.S.: I'm back, but after the random nastiness from other threads, no mercy on those who behave like they were raised in barns or went off their meds.

I have 3 tanks through my dremeled ceramic with no floods or wicked dry hits. Inside of BB is dry on first 2 tanks, slight moisture on upper back and one side after tank 3. No more than I would get with a carto. I think this is due to the fact that the OD of the brass connector's oring is a little small, allowing a little vapor to escape into the BB.

It's definitely time to rewick, probably should have after 2 tanks; that's a lot of ml to go thru on one wick.

I'll rewick tonight and continue to test...I want to make sure I have this build dialed in, so I can do a pictorial tutorial for everyone.

I certainly don't want to post a solution that works only intermittently, or is not repeatable. We all have enough frustration in our lives, and, I vape to relax, not to add to that frustration.

Cotton or silica?

I ask because I loathe cotton..

Thanks for the update..
