All the time wasted dripping, cleaning up leaks, waiting for atomizers to cool down...... arrrghhhhhhhh.... what a headache

I can't believe how well cartomizers work with the V2. No leaks, no dripping every 5 minutes...

Plus for the price of one 901, 501, etc atomizer you get 5 or 6 cartomizers which are just as good if not better.... and they don't overheat on me like my 901 attys do.

Who's with me?

I am 4 sure... Once I started on Cartomizers... that was it for me..

Every now and then 'l break out a 901 if i have some new juice recipe I wanna test really quick....

Even on the V2 at high voltage the carts are doable if you short click the switch...

Lovem... When Steve has blanks they're only 1.09¢ each... Cheapest price going and I've never had a bad one... I also don't have to *Kinda* break them in... They're good to go on the first fill..

Long live the cartomizer/Atomz  :w00t:

I'm gonna give the 801/BE112s a shot, but cartos are working real well for me right now. 901 and 510 quality is very erratic it seems. Especially the SLBs. They work like a champ then die out quickly.

I've had some luck with the BE112s so far, but we'll see how long they perform.

Its just mind boggling that one 901 or 510 costs as much as a 5 pack of cartomizers, and they last just as long.

I love cartomzers, for long vapes. But I do think the 901 is maligned. Perhaps because of over vaping? I like the 901 for higher mg strengths, carts for more longer and relaxing vaping. Actually I keep both going . the cart on my 901 pt. When I need the calming effect of the higher mg, on a 901 manual battery. .

I'm really torn with cartos. I'm good with the cost factor and amount of juice they hold as well as ease of refilling - all great things that are better than standard atty's.

But I can't seem to get past the heat issue! After about a few minutes they're way too hot to even put on your lips. I use the condom-with-...... method to try and insulate it - and it def helps - but it still gets hot as hell. What are you guys doing to work with the heat!?

When I vape in the car it's pretty much take a hit, exhale, wait 5 sec or so, take another hit. I may do this for a minute or 2 and then set it down for a minute or two. By the end of the first round I gotta stop. Am I just a crazy vaper? My 510's heat up too but the plastic cart insulates well enough to keep going without issue. And I've never melted a cart.

Any ideas / help?

What I do is tear the wrapper off the cartos. I find that it acts as an insulator... kinda like wrapping a water heater with insulation to keep the heat in... same concept. They cool off faster without the labels on.

The glue on their is sticky, so get a paper towel soaked in lighter fluid or acetone and scrub it off.

Next, to keep myself from burning my lips, I stick one of those round black caps that come with the 901 cartridges on the end of the carto. They fit just about perfectly if you put piece of tape around the mouth end. Makes a great mouthpiece.

I'll post a pic if I can get my camera to cooperate.

the T-Tip works awesome one cartos too... you can drip into the cartomizer too... just tilt it when you do... or it will drip straight through. it's nice for a quick top off.

I've just ran across some cartomizers that completely Suck in my opinion. if you look down into it, you see the coil is sideways... and you can't see straight through it like all the other cartos i've used... i dont know what kind they are but they suck imho.

i'm thinking about making some of these in plastic myself... the brass gets weird, the stainless is nice but it's like... toooooo hard (i envision a bump on the road, then a chipped tooth or something). So i was thinking about making something that is rubber or semi soft plastic or something that will work like it.

Drip Tips from nHaler, made out of delrin just like Steve uses for the switch bodies. Cheaper than the t tips and look nice on PS Atoms (black on black).

I loved cartos until I read this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...s-e9-vk-bloog-totem-808-dpv9-smoke51-etc.html

I took one of my used ones apart for myself. Now I don't use them. It's a damn shame because they are a great idea. But I refuse to inhale burnt filler smoke.

The trick to carts is not to cook them. Pretty simple actually.

I've taken a number of mine apart and their just darkened by the fluid / flavors I use. If they're filled with Ecopure, there's no discoloration at all.

I think those pictures depict an extreme end of the spectrum.
Nothing is without fault if used improperly. Even butter :w00t:

True, but how do you avoid cooking it? I've heard you have to keep them wet but to me that defeats the whole point of the carto, which is being maintenance free till it's refill time.
