hana modz is a registered trademark. So that may well be behind this:

I applaud your efforts to do a bit of research....there is more but as I stated...this is not the place for me to discuss as others can research if they choose......
Vendors selling non logo versions should be safe... They don't have to rights to a box mod.
true, but if your the only kid on the block advertising it as a "hana modz clone" instead of a cana modz, you might feel the heat more then the rest... this all makes sense now, although it doesn't excuse them from the lack of communication.
The logo was filed Feb 17 2014 and the name itself April 19 2014... When did these pre-orders go live?
Oh, and cana modz won't help you, because it is too similar (it doesn't have to be identical; as long as there is a chance the two products can be confused)

It's the logo. That's what brought the heat. They were the only vendors I know of selling the logo version. How this plays out will be interesting.... The definitely should be addressing their customers through, if I purchased from illvapes I'd be addressing this issue asap!
Just got a reply from 101vape that they have a shipment on it's way but like eciggity they are all black.
I ordered green so I'll just continue to be patient but I look at this as a good sign. Atleast they are starting to ship and many more people will now have hands-on and report the good and bad. If there is more bad then good I still have time to cancel.

Yep...this is not about the enclosure (box).....and I respect your opinion that non-logo versions should be safe.. however I respectfully disagree....
Too bad Hana couldn't keep up with the supply & demand. I tried many times to get one and that was a total joke.
I'm pretty sure that Hana Modz ordered from every vendor as well. The moment they receive their unit, that vendor will be sued for damages. I honestly think none of these orders will be shipped, unless the vendor wants to go out of business.
It also says Hana modz when the display fires up.
Im sure Evolv is involved in this too as Retird indirectly tries to tell everyone this.
