So I did a charge test with the AOBA unit, it charged a two week old VTC5 to 4.19v and held it there for two hours with the red light still on. So obviously it IS terminating the charge, though it is not charging it all the way. I took a freshly charged VTC5 (same batch as the other one) off of my nitecore i4 at 4.21V. Placed it in the mod for 15mins and the light still never turned off so it is not a case of the battery not hitting a certain voltage before changing colors. It may just be a physically different usb board and/or led but there is too many wires and glue to really see. I will have to wait until Saturday to perform the same test on my cloupor unit. Loaned that one out a friend stuck on ce5's and ego's who cant seem to give up analogs after many months. Figured a couple days with a nice mod, KFL+, and some nicoticket juice may do the trick.

BTW I was using a 6ft 24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core (Gold Plated) from monoprice that I use at my desk to charge my S5 at 2A. So I would doubt the cable would be a concern.

But is it just one extra click? I could have swore I have seen posts that more than 2 clicks are needed sometimes

My new one fires on the first FIRM click out of sleep 90%-95% of the time. Press the button and hold that sob down hard for a second and a half and it'll fire right up 9 times out of 10.

So far on my SECOND clone I have the following problems (first one shorted out after my aerotank mega's threading touched the 510 connection for those just tuning in).

Green light will not go on when fully charged.
Will NOT fire on first click every time.
Wattage will go down by itself.
Wakes itself up during sleep.
Crooked 510 connection.
OHMS fluctuate VERY often.
Came with major and minor blemishes on the aluminum.

And I don't even care because when it's working, ohhh is it working :vapor:

To the bold: Seriously? I think this is being completely blown out of proportion. Is clicking the button one extra time that much of a inconvenience? When you reach to pick up your mod, click the button, by the time you have it to you mouth to take a vape, hit the button again and vape away. Now that I'm paying attention to try to narrow down when I have to double click, mine keep firing first click just like curly, go figure. Guess you could always pay an extra $180 for an authentic so you don't have to click a button more time.

I agree. really don't think the double click troubleshooters are complaining though. Its just the geek in me that wants to discover the problem, nothing less. I don't care about it. I just want to find what causes it.

I was going to ask if he was Rips kid or something... Lol
And totally not complaining here. Just want to know why it's happening because there has been lots of complaints and seems a few are really trying to figure it out, just trying to assist...
Btw, yes on RARE occasions I have had to press it more than once.

Try adjusting your pin down a bit if you can to stop the fluctuating ohms

I'm not complaining about the extra click(s), I'm interested in what we find as a group is causing it. It's just curiosity, I haven't forgotten that this is a first run Chinese clone.

I have no idea because it happens randomly, it seems, and it doesn't do it the same way on the two devices I have (Silver from Wet Vapes and Green from Vapor Tek). My Green seems to require the extra click virtually every time it sleeps, even if only for a minute or two, whereas my Silver is much less fussy and much more random.

I'm still going with sloppily written code for the sleep function.

I spoke to Elev8 about the double click from sleep issue and he explained it's a safety feature so that the mod doesn't fire in your pocket, that sort of thing. I'm beginning to think if you hold down on the button, it'll fire after a second. I'll experiment with it when I use it at work tomorrow. The real hana gets used outside of work.

I'm all for people trying to figure out the problem, and I didn't take that as any of you complaining about it. I just think it's crazy that someone wouldn't buy the mod just because occasionally it doesn't fire first click. Just my opinion. I know people have their own wants and needs. I tried purchasing an original Hana on a couple occasions a few months ago before the clones were announced. I'm honestly glad I wasn't fast enough with the f5 key because I'll gladly save $180 for the "inconvenience" of having to click the fire button twice, maybe even 3 times on occasion to wake up. :toast:
