I have a feeling they're just tossing out suits right now towards anyone that carries any type of hana clone. VaporTekUSA's hana clones are completely de-branded. There's no trademark anywhere on the inside or outside. There's no logo on the front nor do the stickers on the inside have the logo. I have one sitting right here next to me.

I was mostly on the side of hana modz until this. I can understand that they didn't want people selling a mod that was identical to theirs including the branding at a greatly reduced price. However, there's absolutely nothing special about the Hana mod itself. It's a vanilla box mod with a DNA30 chip. It's VERY vanilla. There is absolutely nothing extraordinary about it which is probably why they got it to market so quickly.

I agree. I ordered mine from Vapor Tek because they appeared responsible enough to not use the name or show any logos on their device pictures or website. But upon looking up the docket text, I see that they are suing over screen shots on their Facebook page. I'm assuming those images had the logo?

Toronto, Canada,
I think he's referring to attys with positive pins are that recessed and need to protrude a little.
The 510 positive on the Modz is very wide so ...

**UPDATE 6/4/14 @ 4:19AM EST: KANGER AEROTANK ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED! The kanger megas come with a pin that is pushed in very far. You need to remove the base of the aerotank and push the pin out a LITTLE more so that it can make contact with the cana modz.

**UPDATE 6/4/14 @ 1:59AM EST: DO NOT USE A KANGER AEROTANK, MEGA OR MINI WITH YOUR CANA MODZ, THE PINS ARE CAUSING ISSUES.

I'll say it again. HANA did not create the box mod nor the dna 30 chip within. They piggy backed those two ideas from others. The only ground they have is trademark issues. They hold no patent. They didnt even have a trademark until the clones broke out, then they ran to apply for that. IMO, and that's all this is, they can't touch a vendor selling aluminum box mods, with a knock off chip inside, unless someone is using their trademark.

If you all remember the original pictures of the clones were authentic Hana's with the logo photoshopped out. If there is a way to prove they used their product to sell the clone, maybe that would make a case? Just guessing here. Anyone with legal background please chime in.

As long as I don't get a cease-vaping and desist letter or a Hana Vape Swat team show up at my door I am ok. I kinda do agree that I was on Hana's side for defending there logo, but now I think it is wrong. Especially when they still have pre sales not filled, and they show up in Miami with a boat load to sell. To ME, just not a cool thing to do in a community that is supposed to be looking out for each other.

Please understand that the ads are the real problem here. Yes, they first were advertised as Hana Modz clones, then Chana or Zana. None of that matters as it is clear that these still are similar and still refer to the original trademark holder. The logo is a separate trademark. The Hana trademark still applies to any e-cig device.

From their Facebook as of 2 minutes ago....I highlighted one thing and underlined the part I wonder about....:

ZANA MODS DNA 30 ALERT COLOR CHANGE!!!! I am not a GOOGLE DOCS extraordinaire! The first person to create a google document that will allow customers to 1. Enter Order number 2. Enter Name 3. Enter the Color Ordered 4. and Say Yes to chan... See More

Zana Modz Clone DNA 30 Chip "No Logo" "SHIPS AROUND 28TH-MAY" ROUND 4
Vapor Tek USA - Amazing Deals on Electronic Cigarettes!
The Hana Modz DNA 30 box mod is one of the most sought after variable voltage and variable wattage devices in the vaping industry today.

Hey guys,

I was thinking about snatching one of these but I just wanted to confirm a few things:

1. How accurate is the ohm reader on it? I don't have a personal multimeter but I heard alot of the other DNA30 clones have been .2ish ohms off.

It reads my all my atomizers at the same ohms as my ohm reader reads them as. So, either they fixed that or all my ohm readers are faulty. :)

Yep... and the one I tested was off by .3....maybe it depends which shipment you obtained it from??? kinda hit and miss on the variance I think...

2. Would original wraps for the Hana fit on this box?

It's within .1 on mine. I'm not vaping at .3 or .4, so I'm good.....

Funny thing, as I've posted before, is I think there were more REAL Hana's at the Miami vapefest last weekend then there were clones. Lots of vendors had them in every color with PLENTY of back up stock. Plenty of authentic mini's as well.
Suddenly there's no more wait time.

At this rate. Before long Slowtek will become fasttek and be the only game in town. Unfortunately you will have to put up with the logo.
Wait maybe Hana will take on China.
LoL

Hana take on China?? Their lawyers are from one of the most respected firms on International Trademark/Patent Law...and Law is not my forte....lol
