I've had mine for almost a month (30 days this Sat) now with no issues to report. Once it seemed stuck in locked mode. I took the battery out, put it back in and all was good. Also ordered a mini from fast tech and that should ship this week. I'd love to support American companies here, but the price difference is just too much. The perceived quality difference between the clones and the original is just not great enough to justify. I was ready to click buy on a Vaporshark with the Father's day coupon, but still, $50 vs $150. I just can't do it when I could get 3 minis for the price of 1. Not for something that is essentially disposable (to me) and will be replaced by the next great thing shortly.
and even if someone does decide it is not good enough quality, they can just build their own dna :)

Advice - i noticed fast tech has a Hana clone for 56$ and the clouper version I've doing for 69$
Is one better than the other?
And what makes it better?

Ah, I see the 18650 version of the FT version is up for sale. Pretty cheap. I note the seam across the drip well. I don't like that. No idea why it ships with a 18650 battery, that just slows down delivery to the US. My mini with the lipo will take a slow boat to get here.

Do you happen to know if they are the same thing or if one version would be better than another?

I personally would not get the FT version as it has the seam across the juice well. that could spell bad news if juice ends up leaking down into where the chip resides. thats just IMO.

Its strange that they made it with a seam, since the mini does not have one. I heard, will verify when mine arrives, that the mini lipo internal battery has plug-in connector.

It's not really strange. They're casting the case rather than machining it from a billet. Casting is faster and cheaper.

The FT 18650 "Hana" clones use a box copied from the Hana 20D which has the seam, they are marketed to FT from Hotcig and more than likely roll off the same line as Hcigar. No Evolv chips are in any of the clones unless you put one in.

Hcigar 18650 mods do not have a seam.

Based on the mini it appears the FT clones use a different chip and board than the Cloupor clones do. The Cloupor clones look like 1:1 clones of the Evolv chips, but the FT clones are visibly different.

Is that a 20 or a 30 watt model from Hcigar?

That is a 20 watt. Their 30 watt hasn't started shipping yet.

Here is the mini. No seam on it either.

We are talking about the seam created by the battery door on the 18650 20 watt model are we not?
This one:

Indeed, but those are ONLY on the Fasttech clones. They are NOT on the Cloupor or Hcigar clones in either DNA20 or DNA30 form.

If you notice, Hcigar added air channels to the 510 well on their mods. That's their own modification to the design, even the real Hanas don't have them. And it makes it real easy to tell if something else is coming off Hcigar's production line. If it doesn't have the air channels it wasn't made by Hcigar.

I just emailed Cloupor and asked if they were going to recall or replace the clones with the defective connector. I probably won't receive an answer until tonight but I will post their response when I receive it.

I had a lot of back and forth discussion via email with someone from Cloupor last night. I am not going to post verbatim responses in the forum as I don't believe that is ethical. Just my own personal beliefs.

They first emailed me and wanted links to the website where the pictures of the fixed 510 connectors were posted which I provided. Then they wrote back and said they were aware of the problems and had made changes based on customer feedback. They said this was a first production run for them and we were testers the same as Innokin and other companies have done. (Their words)

I explained that a lot of people had bought these near cost and were not complaining as they planned on replacing Cloupor's crappy parts with good parts. I also explained that not everyone bought them at that price and some paid more. I explained that we were all mislead as this was promoted as a "1 to 1 clone of the Hana Modz DNA 30 mod". I told them it was a clone in looks only and not in quality or function.

Bottom line we were once again testers for a Chinese company. I for one should have known better. Lesson learned. I won't be making this mistake again.

Take my words for what they are worth. Just my own opinion, nothing more nothing less.

so no admission of liability for the failed units?
no mention of recalling or refunding the ones that failed?

I don't know how good their other products are. I've never used them myself. They aren't exactly ecigs.....

Let's just say they are popular atomizers in California, Washington, and especially Colorado.

Interesting...I've never seen them anywhere here.
