I suspect it is because the original company is either in another country without a trade agreement, of they didnt file for a TM

hana modz have filed for trademark protection. This is not a trivial matter and they have likely done this to be protected from people using their brand (trademark) to capitalize on their original idea. This is something that anyone who wants to do business in the US needs to acknowledge. There is no secret about this, you can look it up and read about it. At the same time, you have to defend this trademark or you will lose it (read up on trademarks to better understand why they exist). So hana modz have filed the trademark and they must enforce it if they want to keep it. I do not know whether or not they will do that, but they certainly have the right to do so. If you actually look this stuff up, you will find that changing the name from hana modz to Cana Modz won't protect you from litigation. If Hana Modz decides to sue, they will win against the vendors (I'm pretty sure about that). Obviously, the folks who purchased and received the mods won't be prosecuted, but the vendors could face significant damages.
Any idea why they filed in California? I may be mistaken, but I thought Hana was in Illinois.
I have a Nemesis clone I bought from a US vendor. it has the logos on it same as the original.
How can mech mods be sold as clones with no problem but the Hana Modz can't?

So everyone should have theirs in the next couple weeks If there are people ordering right now and will get theirs in 2 weeks.
Just hope 101 gets their green units in soon!
I ordered a blue no logo from illVapes Like others have said, I do not believe the lawsuit will effect any of our orders. Suits take time, and FINALLY, they have started coming in! Sucks for illvapes tho.
Research the law firm and you will find your answer....
Has nothing to do with the law firm. You must file in the proper jurisdiction where the defendant resides, place of business, or may be found. The law firm has nothing to do with the jurisdiction and where to file. It's simply where illvapes does business...
And I wasn't even passive aggressive about it.....
THX.. I stand corrected....edited to say "look up illvapes address"....
