Question:

Can this mod not vape at all below 4v? Or can it not regulate below 4v so long as the battery charge is above 4v?

For instance, could I regulate at 3.9v is the of the battery is at 3.7v?

I have no real interest in vaping at anything below about 4.2v, so it's not that big of a deal, I'm just trying to gauge the capabilities of the chip.

Can an Evolv DNA30 regulate below 4v?

Yes it is, thought it was just me. I ordered the Jwraps black carbon fiber for mine today. I have to constantly clean mine because it gets slippery from the oil in the fingerprints. Hopefully the wrap will solve this.

Surely the wrap will solve it. I'm waiting on Vaper Skinz to get a clone size done so that I can get the ..... the FDA wrap for my Silver. My Green will likely get a clear wrap.

From Evolv DNA30D spec sheet: Too low power setting: The DNA 30D puts out a minimum of 4 volts. With low power settings (7 to 8 watts) and low resistance atomizers (below 2 ohms) the DNA will sometimes be unable to provide a low enough power output to be power regulating. If this is the case, the Ohms display will be flashing. The device will still operate.

Thanks.

This is just one reason why the SX350 has a lead in the regulated chip war. It can buck down to 1.5v (not sure why anyone would want to vape that low). And that doesn't even mention the polarity protection, user presets, and upgradeability via USB (a 50W upgrade is said to be in the works).

Evolv will definitely need to do more than a simple wattage upgrade in their next chip if they want to stay competitive. SX chips make the DNA look dated.

I won't be in the SX camp until the mythical up/down button support update is live. I don't want to have to wiggle my mod to adjust the settings.

Well I read your opinion and just got thru seeing a SX chip mod for over 230 bucks.... but anything over 10 watts is overkill for me....also just read and saw pictures about a new 100 watt chip mod...lol....more watts doesn't equate to better vape....

EDIT: Had to search a bit to find the chart that's has been around for years... really helped me find my "sweet spot" for best vapor/flavor..... I think it is still relevant today..... thought some might find it interesting.....somebody posted it recently in the New Members forum......(maybe the chart needs updating to show sub-ohm values....)

Received mine today, screws came out fine.

Using a protank 2 on it at the moment at 1.2 ohms, 10w. I tried taking it to 20w, burnt taste.
It does have a blemish around the fire button, I will have to live with it.

Seems I found my sweet spot. 1 ohm dual 28g 10 wraps at 22-25w on a patriot with drilled out holes. Not sure what size bit I used but same opening as one hole on an Igo m.

I would use my Igo m but the center pin is too flush so it wont make contact with the 510 on the device. (wish there was a fix for that)
