Damn and I thought I was picky. This is my v1 cloudpear with the large 510 pin (that matters why? Works fine for me) and the extra click to fire. I'm extremely pleased with it. Clobster hit a home run with these clones!

Hey Guys,

I haven't been following this thread because quite frankly, I forgot I even ordered this thing! It's a FT "Hana Modz" V3 clone that I ordered over a month ago from fasttech. I normally only buy authentic stuff, but I figured for $56 why not?

So I just got this thing today, and I just had a couple of questions. First of all, it seems to be built rather well! Besides the crooked display (not a big deal), it's put together rather nicely! I was just wondering; is this the Cloupor version? Are the FT ones known to function OK compared to the "Chana Modz" ones from other vendors?

I figured at the very least, I have something that can hold my attys when I rebuild them, can check resistance, and can fire the coils if need be...That alone is worth $56 for me! The fact that I can vape with it is a bonus!! haha....The only thing I wish was that the battery was removable/replacable...it's not on mine....I see that FT now has the ones with removable 18650 batteries...maybe I'll order another one!! lol...

Anyway I just wanted to see if I got a "good one" compared to the other clones that are out there? Do any of you guys have the FT clone and if so, what do you think?

Thanks for any info you can provide!! :)

From what I hear, the FT ones aren't Cloupor, could be Hotcig maybe. I hear there are some functional problems with them too but primarily from the DNA20 batch.

Gotcha. Well it seems to work well thus far! I just wish I could remove the battery and put like a VTC5 in it or something. Right now i believe it has 2x 600 mAh batteries hard wired into the unit...we'll see how long those last....

Is more than likely a Hotcig version, does the back plate come up all the way to the 510 connection area creating a split across the 510 area? If it does it is most definitely a Hotcig version of which I have 2, if that's what you have and you want to lowdown let me know.

I don't think so? Here's a pic of the top of my back plate....It does not "split" the 510 conn. like you say...

Yeah from looking at your picture it does not seem to be a Hotcig (unless this is a mini).....so you are lucky the Hotcig units are not very good at all.

I think it might be a mini. It does not have a removable 18650 battery like the bigger ones do. Instead, FT says it has 2x 600 mAh hard wired batteries....It is not very big at all....Oh well, if it is a Hotcig one then it was cheap enough..I'll just use it till it dies I guess! :)

Some are reporting them actually being 2 x 800 inside

Interesting. I'll pull off the rear cover again and see if I can tell.

In other news, I just tried to plug in a micro USB cord to charge it, and the female USB jack in the Hana Clone came loose and disappeared inside the device! I had to remove the rear panel, find it, and superglue it back into place. I mean it's a clone so it's bound to have issues, so I'm not complaining... :)

Ok after that little episode you just had with the USB I can tell you 100% that you have a Hotcig unit, that is one of the several problems with them....the ohms are wacky (unless they have reprogrammed the chips...mine read .03 higher and when you go below .9 ohms sometimes it will read double i.e. .7 ohms will read 1.3-1.4....on the good side I believe your Lipos are not soldered they actually have a snap plug to allow you to change them without resoldering.....

Haha OK so that pretty much seals the deal, huh? :D

Oh well that's OK....I am mostly a mechanical mod guy, so I basically just bought this thing for .....s and giggles.....If nothing else, I have something I can stand my attys on while I rebuild and it will fire my coils....

I am using it right now and it seems to work OK, but I guess time will tell....thanks though for the help!

I had just placed an order for another one with a removable 18650 from FT, but I just cancelled it. If these are Hotcig as well, then I don't want it...

Those Ft clones are Great! I sold my Cloupor and kept my FT clone being they are so well put together but like any of these clones there are some hit and misses. the usb port is a easy fix and I bet once you fix it you'll be happy!

well got my green replacement in from illvapes and i have to say im loving the new sandblasted powder coat look, it hits like a champ. i read on cloupors fb that there not going to be doing anymore green and orange so i guessed i lucked out and got this one, before i even put in a battery i opened the back to find still a healthy amount of hot glue, had to remove some of that to let it breath a little. they were certainly generous with the epoxy as there is now a thin layer over the entire board, my magma doesn't sit completely flushed but its straight and barely hovers above the recessed cup. a couple of blotches in the front of uneven powder coating but its not that noticeable, no burs or scratches anywhere like the version 2 but the up wattage button sits a tiny bit crooked although its still solid. i cant say enough good things about this powder coat look though, almost makes me sad im gonna cover it with a jwrap. vaping a .06 ohm dual coil at 26.5 watts but probably gonna rebuild to a 1.2 in a bit. well see how this one holds up, haven't heard of anyone having problems with the version 3 so im optimistic...

For me I am talking about all the above :) I had and sold my Cloupor (I will see it later today tho) and I have the FT dna20 clone with li-po's PLUS I have a 18650 Silver FT dna30 and my buddy has the dna30 full size and mini from FT so I played with the mini too! I mostly use my DNA20 FT clone at 14.5 watts and my Single coil Atomic but at night I use my Silver DNA30 with dual coils in my Trident V2 at 24 watts.
I am as happy as a Bug on a pie!!!

When folks say FastTech clone are yous talking about the mini with the pair of LiPO batteries or the full sized ones which are very similar to the Clouper units that this thread primarily talks about?

So with all due respect Herb, it seems like you have already made up your mind(well maybe), you have been in here for days now going thru the "yes...maybe...no...yes...maybe...no" if this is not the device for you, then just start up your own thread regarding the chips and boxes that you are happy with and will buy some day..........this thread is about the "DNA 30, formerly known as Hana/ahaH/Cana/ and so on.......just my humble opinion

Quite observant IC , impressive , this thread may be titled Cana modz but it's far from just Cana modz talk , lots of other things have been discussed way before i started following it , apologies to you and anyone else i seriously offended due to my indecision .

Hey watch it , this is a Cana modz only thread .

Are you kidding , you got to be , IC doesn't like it , it's one persons opinion , a ton do like it , go to FT and read the latest reviews , that removable battery model is getting great reviews and it comes with a 6 month warranty , + it's cheap , if you don't like it after 6 months return it.

I would never rule something out because someone happens to have a different view on it , decide for yourself if it's worth it or not , not by what another person says.
