Im interested in this…it's my first foray into RTA single coil builds…on another post elsewhere you mentioned that the machining burs in the center post were excessive, also the edge of the tanks juice holes were very rough and needed to be cleaned up. What's the procedure for this? Does one need DIY hand tool experience? I have none.
Also, would this be a decent first-timer tank to begin with? It's not exactly cheap.
I clean up the burrs with a Dremel and a
Rubber Polishing Point. If the burrs are too excessive, I have used grinding points on them as well.
Because of the juice flow burrs, this tank does not close off completely for filling. I use a 50/50 juice and if I take too much time filling, it will flood. This issue would be alleviated by cleaning up the burrs which I haven't done yet as I don't think this tank will see any use in my rotation.
IMHO I don't think this version would be a good choice for your first foray into the KFM V3. It could be that the one I have was made on a Friday afternoon or by a new machinist, but I doubt it. There are many regular size versions that others have linked which are half the price and might be a better place to start. I have no experience with those versions so I can't comment on them.
