That's where I got my SS wire when they had a 50% off sale. I do like SS so far. I can't really compare it to kanthal as I haven't really used it in over a year. I do like it better than Ni200 though. Easier to work with and less initial weird taste.
There are tons of dumb questions and even more dumb people but that wasn't either
I've used SS in power mode by mistake and it was just a bit hotter than in TP mode.
Yes I use it in normal power mode rather than kanthal.
Thanks guys for the answers. Another dumb question. What gauge SS should I use to get the same resistance as 28 gauge Kanthal?

I use 28g Ni200 and kanthal but got 26g SS. It's easier to use and handle than 28g Ni200, about the same as kanthal (from what I remember).
I only use TP now and if I didn't have 4 DNA40 mods in daily rotation, I'd switch completely to SS.

I have SS430 in 28g, for SS316L I have 26g, 24g and 20g which is more like a steel bar than wire, 5 wraps on 3mm for a 0.1 ohm coil.

I got 26g 316L ss 100' for $3.50 (50% off sale). Looks like the prices went down. Might pick up another spool.
Yes SS wire is fine in power mode, it is just lower resistance then Kanthal, as already stated. Before it was a thing some of the premium wire marketed to cloud bros was just SS wire. The only issue is if your looking for higher resistance builds it may not be suitable. I really don't use much Kanthal anymore, I do still use mech mods fairly regularly, and it is quite nice to be able to go from regulated to mech, still have great performance.
The only caveat is of course building within your device/battery limits.
