I bought a v3 mini from fast tech.. It would be good if it wasn't for the tiny crappy screws on the deck, but worse the flooding and gurgling. A lot of times I hear people rave about these clones and when I get one there is always problems with it. Is this new version better? I rather have a small tank .. Im not big on huge devices.. Are there any preferred kayfun mini 3 clones out there ? I am thinking about buying another one and giving it another shot.
This one has lots of extras, 2 glass and a SS tank, plus all those matchy matchy drip tip ends. :D

I found out today how stupid the KFM3 design is. If you happen to flood it, you have to take out the center post to clean it. This will allow the positive block to dangle free and possibly distort your coil ATS in the process... o_O

I flooded my KFM3 exactly once, because I forgot to close it up for a fill. I just blew through the drip tip while it was sort of horizontal, cleaned it out in seconds, no disassembly required. As I don't have that 1.5 version I cannot say it is the same, but I thought it was other then being slightly enlarged.

The fatty may indeed be/behave differently but I still say the OG is the easiest atomizer I've used to wick/build. I never bothered buying the Fatty since I don't mind the capacity of the smaller. And now with the 5 I don't see any need to buy it. But then I've been waiting a long time for a Kayfun with more airflow.

Want an annoying atty to build? Here you go...

The Kayfun V3 Plus 1.5 really ain't all that, there is a lot of machine burrs that need to be cleaned up and that center post hole is only 2mm.

2mm is just fine for me since I like a tight draw anyway. I may just go for it - especially since it fits the Pico.

I did do that, but I hate juice anywhere I can't easily clean out and there still was a little bit in the base area. ;)

Well I'm stumped, what tank is that? I am always up for an aggravating challenge. :D

Hey Troll, something doesn't add up with the tightness you are experiencing with the plus. The holes in the mini are even smaller - 1.8 mm; but there are three of them in the center post. How many holes in the plus?
I'll have to take it apart again and see but there might be four. It might not be too tight a draw for you though. After vaping on the Genelocity all day, everything else has a tight draw...

Here we go.. More discussion about friggin airflow. LoL.. thats all anyone ever gives a .... about even with an atty like the friggin kayfun that is meant for mouth to lung.

Thanks Troll for the link. The one I bought was from fastech 316 stainless I believe, but didn't come with all those extras.. Its a good tank but it keeps getting juice in the airflow and sometimes gets gurgly and leaky.. IF it wasn't for that I would enjoy the atty a ton more.. I never have luck with the cheap china stuff... are there any other versions of the kayfun mini 3 that people are happy with? I heard there is a tobecco one? I probably would like the kayfun five better, but I enjoy the smaller form factor.

Have you tried tightening the hex nut underneath? That has solved the problem for several people.

UR right about air flow, but to me it is everything.

Yeah, maybe i need to try again.. i did that and replaced the bottom deck o ring.. and it still gets a little gurggly.. I can see a little juice getting in where the air adjust screw is too.. If it wasn't for that I would really enjoy the atty.

Not to sound like a d#*k, but why even bother with a kayfun if you need a super open airflow.. They have like 100000 tanks out there for lung hitting, sub ohming..

I was just looking to see if the Kayfun Mini could replace the GEM on my CoV Mini Volt. The answer for me is no.

Some of us just like a little more air, but still like the vape on the Kayfun, nothing wrong with that, I have plenty of high airflow tanks like your describing just like a change now & then. Plus I don't always like to suck down a 30ml bottle in less than an hour.

I had looked at that on 3F...
How Annoying is it? :)

Its not really that bad, basically two ways to wick it, one you have to push the wick through the chamber cap/coil, or hook it with a wire and pull it through. The alternative is to build it with the wick internal and poke around through the chimney hole in the chamber top. Sorta kinda wicks like a Taifun without the ability to remove the top of the chamber. Its a little tedious, some seem to think its some sort of magically good atomizer because it costs $300. I guess I insulted the person posting in that thread by telling the truth and saying its just another high airflow dual coil tank.

I do care and many other vapers do, too. Kayfuns' airflow ranges from 1.8 mm tiny airport hole (Kayfun Lite) to a whopping (for Kayfuns) 3.2 mm in diameter (K5). That's a huge difference for a MTL vaper. The K5 lets you take restricted lung hits.

I never have luck with the cheap china stuff... are there any other versions of the kayfun mini 3 that people are happy with? I

Yes. Try an authentic Svoemesto version.

Why indeed. I don't think anybody in this thread is looking for a sub-ohm tank.

Carry on.

I haven't looked for a replacement glass yet, was that your post about putting the calipers to it? ;) Please let us know when you do.

The KS RTA is an absolute diamond in the rough. My tank has started showing stress cracks on top around the chimney, so I need to order a couple more. It was a daily driver used at work for quite a while.

Yup, was me. Will pass along specs when it gets here. I picked up a pair of those KS and a few spare tanks after trying out the first one. Love it as a driving/work setup.

I apologize, I just get frustrated sometimes.. Its almost like every thread has to do with airflow.. You know.. Tight airflow isn't so bad.. give it a shot again one day.. you get really good flavor when the airflow is cut off. Everyone hates on tight draws but I enjoy the flavor..

Besides airflow... anyone recommend the best or more reliable clones out there for the Kayfun Mini 3? So far I tried the 316 from fasttech.. Small screw on deck.. Not sure why the hell they keep doing that for.. And some leaking gurgling problems. I don't get China.. they go out of their way to make a perfect clone than screw it up some how.. DO they know by now to use larger screws to capture wires or what? WHy would they keep doing something that ......ed for.. Its aggravating.

Maybe you should just get a Kayfun 5 clone? They are already on preorder. More air, but it's a Kayfun. I only have the simple FT Kmv3 (not plus) and it's been fine, but not my go-to. Small deck, small capacity.

Some claim that the Tobeco clone of the mini is better--I haven't tried it. Others like the plus from FT. Read back a bit. Read some reviews on FT, also. And don't get frustrated. It is what it is. A new atty. :)

Have you tried K4? It's my favorite Kayfun to date. And the Tobeco 1:1 clone is fantastic:

Out of stock. Been trying out my $5 Tobeco K4 today for the first time. It's big, heavy and complex and was giving me fits because it was shifting resistance values between 1.30 to 1.53 ohms, but - once I got past all that - I like the vape.

Plus it comes with alternative metal and plastic tank sections for my emergency use (I prefer glass).

Running 1.3-ish ohm, 28 ga Kanthal microcoil at the moment. Need to play with the build, as it seems a bit harsh. Hoping to eventually use it in TC SS mode. I like the KMv3 basic design better for its simplicity, but the K4 looks kinda badass - like a mini nuke or sumpthin'.

I don't like the look of the K5, to be honest. Just doesn't appeal to me. <shrug>
