My SMJY finally came in the mail. 13 days from China to Pennsylvania.
I checked for the o-ring in the top cap missing (it was there) and everything else seems up to snuff aside from the screws. They seem a little mis-shaped.
I thoroughly cleaned it and lubricated the bottom o-rings with some VG, filled it up, and I have to say I am enjoying it so far. I am using it without the MTL kit right now on the smallest air setting; It is a direct lung inhale with a slight restriction on this setting.
Sadly I only have 80/20 juice to use with it right now, and I normally use max VG so I don't know if the juice flow will work as well for that, however the juice holes in the chimney seem to be very good size. The juice holes under the deck seem slightly bigger than the kayfun 4's. So I imagine it will work somewhat fine with max VG. I was going to use my Mitutoyo calipers to measure the holes and the dimensions, however the battery is dead since they use power even when they are off to keep track of how far along the track they are, and my eyes can't see 1/100th or 1/1000th of an inch like the calipers, but it does LOOK good to me.
The only other thing is the drip tip; I can't tell if it's actual delrin, or just some simple plastic.
I will try out the MTL kit later, However I have a feeling I'll be sticking to the biggest insert if I decide to do so, as I don't want it to be like trying to suck a thick milkshake through a skinny straw. The flavor is pretty nice on here, but I am only at 16w right now (trying to slowly break in the new wick). Also using a boring 2.5m, 1.1 ohm, 8 wrap kanthal coil. I'll try some fancier coils after I test the MTL kit.
EDIT: The screws are definitely off, or the posts outside of the screw are. The smallest set of screws actually touches against the side of one of the posts, when it is supposed to fit in between them without touching. I think it's the posts as my authentic kayfun screws did the same.
