i made me a homemade "mtl kit". made o coil out of some twisted wire i had and jammed it into the airflow tube. pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good :D

I need to try this…what gauge wire did you use and would you be so kind as to post a pic of how this setup looks?

I am hoping someone can help with this. I got my no name, $14.99 clone from 3fvape on Wednesday. It looks way better than I expected and I had no problem putting in a coil and it seems to be wicking just fine - The problem is the air flow. I have it all the way open and it is about like my Serpent Mini if the air flow was cut to maybe 10% (eg 90% closed).

If I was a MTL'r, I might be happy. But I'm more of a restricted DL'r.

Can anyone tell me how their K5 clone compares to the other tanks they have? Or perhaps has anyone else gotten one of the no name clones and had similar issues?
Thanks.
Hi, just following up:

I got my SJMY kayfun 5 yesterday. It is a beaut. And the difference between these two clones is that the $14.99 version (on 3fvape item #12640) is that this black version has screens built into the drip tip and the top cap. These 2 screens reduce the airflow. If you are an MTL'r this may be the one for you, dunno?

I currently have a different drip tip in it and I really can not detect a difference in the vape between the SJMY and this black version. The flavor and every other aspect are fantastic.

So if someone wants a black version and to save $10, you may want to consider this one.

Also, one last word. "Thanks," to those who have posted in this thread with very helpful information. I really appreciate your contributions.

Be well.

Expecting my SXK from FT soon.
I was wondering if anyone has tried tucking in some cotton in the air inlet hole to restrict air inflow for MTL experience?
I have never tried it but my guess would be that it would quickly become saturated with condensation and/or ejuice.

i used a piece of some clapton wire. a thinner clapton wire and you just need something thin to make a coil. the outer diameter of that coil should be less than the airflow tube is.

dont have any pics. you dont need them. just make a tight microcoil, preferably with standard one strain wire and push it down the tube. should work..

I'm so disappointed this isn't a good MTL tank (without the conversion kit). I like a nice tight draw.
SMJY from 3fvape is a 1:1 and is compatible with the air reducer kit. Works perfect. Still using the original o rings from 5 months ago no leaks.

And they still work perfectly, just got one today and it's without flaws from what I can see.

Only took 10 days.
