Although refreshing to see a defender, he used the term "95% safer over the long term". The jury is still out on that one. However, the part about the deaths being related to
vaping toxic chemicals needs to be shouted from rooftops across America.
I am seeing and hearing that fact getting added to soundbites more and more though.
Society in America is a fickle bunch. When they walk down a crowded street past a smoking area these days some cross the street to avoid the stench of cigarette smoke. They fail to notice the vaper using a small device like an old school pen, a pod or a Juul. Yet when they see a crowd of fat bearded dudes wearing all black and have quarter sized discs plugged into their ear lobes they gasp at the giant plumes of "smoke" coming from those lawnmower battery sized devices that just might explode at any second.
True or not, that is public perception and as a community we need to accept that (for now) and educate as the opportunities present them selves.
And we definitely need to let the world around us know we do not condone under age folks using them or
vaping as a means to get high.
