Sorry I have to post this here but I don't have enough posts to put in over in the RTA forum.
I received my kayfun v4 and Longmode kit from intaste.de yesterday and had issues with it right from the get-go. The box was in good condition considering it was shipped in an envelope halfway across the globe but it was what I found inside that had me questioning the authenticity of it.
I first broke it down to the minimum to check everything out and give it a quick clean. I started from the top and ran into my first issue with the counternut being installed way too tight. I tried my best to use my fingers but it was a no go. I resorted to using needle nose pliers and ended up stripping some of the metal off the top as it was still almost too tight even with the pliers. After I finally got that off I broke the rest down and when I came to the base I wanted to see if I got the newest gold spring. I did but I also found that the entire inner base was caked in the most machine oil I have ever seen. More than the past 5 clones I've purchased combined. Pretty upset at this point but I continued on and stated to clean everything.
After the cleaning I started drying with my microfiber cloth and when I ran that through the top piece that the drip tip goes in I noticed some resistance. I looked inside and saw what looked like a hair wrapped around the o-ring. I pulled the o-ring out and what was attached was a sliver of steel about an inch long that had severed the o-ring making it useless. Really mad at this point because after paying $170 this is something I never expected and I assumed since a $20 clone gives you replacement o-rings I would have gotten at least a few with this one but nope. I luckily had a few similar sized ones laying around and decided to just give them a try.
So everything seems okay for the most part and I go to build and install the new chimney I got with it but more problems arise. It threads on about 2 turns then stops. I take it off and have a look inside and the threading on the new chimney is completely eaten up and now the top of the stock chimney is eaten up as well. I can't even get the stock setup back together and am basically left with a $170 paper weight.
I already contacted Intaste and am awaiting a response but was just curious if this is a rare occurrence or have any others had issues with poor QC from svoemesto before? My only other Authentic is a Squape R that I payed a bit less for and that arrived in beyond pristine condition so maybe I'm a bit spoiled? I'm also curious what you think my options will be for a replacement. Will Intaste take care of me or will I have to go through svoemesto directly? I went to their site but can't find any real info on the warranty process at all.
Thanks!
