Hate on the Chinese all you want but if you really think about it, 90% of everything in your home comes from china.

Other than certain iProducts, I hardly have anything made in PRC in my home. I actually look at where things are made before I buy them. None of my clothes-except for certain UA gear are made in PRC, not my entertainment systems or televisions, no shoes made in PRC, no furniture or housewares that I can think of. Even my toaster is made in the USA, as is my microwave and coffee maker...

I would love to buy an authentic nemmy, or king, or chi you... Do you know where I can find one?
What?
Only a limited amount were made?
I have to wait by my computer on a specific day (all day), and I might be able to get one?
hcigar, infinite, Tobecco and ehpro make KNOCK OFFS that cost 1/3 the price and works just as good, if not, better?
Looks like I'm getting a clone then.

IMO I don't think most consumers set out to buy clones just based on price alone. I believe that we all try to find an authentic but as most of you know, they are ALWAYS out of stock. Sure you can find authentics out there but are they any good? Or is that the particular mod you were looking for?

Welll I am selling an authentic Chi on the classifieds for $75 and I am not the only one they are available all day long for far lower than RRP

Nope not in this home I am sure I have missed some things but I am sure it is closer to 10% of the things in my household

Most of mine is made in the US, Japan, or Korea...

MCV 'Panzer'

Really, just because its 'authentic' doesnt make it NOT a 'clone' :)

Plenty of good deals in the classifieds lately. I have actually been shocked at some of the prices I've seen really nice gear sell for. Far, far below retail and not beaters, either. If you can put instant gratification to the side for a bit and stalk the classifieds for a day or two, you will be surprised at what you can find for a song.
I mentioned it in a different thread, but the classifieds are a great resource if you are looking for something different or even looking to upgrade for little cash out of pocket. People trade items all the time and a few extra dollars could land you the setup you have been fawning over. I've owned some nice gear and all for very little money just from using the classifieds.

Well the silence on this is deafening I am curious why? I was convinced there would be some who would come up with an argument that it is perfectly ok to put an exact logo on a clone. To take it further is there anyone out there who thinks it is ok to market said clones (with exact logos) to new or inexperienced vapers as the real deal or "an exact match"? Finally is it ok for B&M stores to sell the $20 Clones for upwards of $80? Because if one cannot justify these arguments then the original purpose of this thread is answered of course it is ok for the original companies to sue the cloner's and we as consumers should be thanking them. With all that said I still do not think they will win the lawsuits for all the reasons previously stated.

Haven't read beyond this post (or p. 86), but wish to clarify what is being said here.

I have seen in this thread where some pro-clone people have said something alone lines of "imitating logo would be unacceptable." But have not seen why that is from the pro-clone perspective. That is what I'd like explained. And to clarify, if the originator didn't get trademark, and cloner is selling it as clone (not trying to hide this), then I'm interested from pro-clone perspective what possible issue there would be with this.

I'm interested in how far the non-deceptive counterfeit market aficionados are willing to go to justify their rationale. And through p. 86, only see the line being drawn on imitating logo as arbitrary and/or unexplained.

Yes, but when buying cigarettes it's over time. $5 here and there every few days. Yes it adds up, but when you smoke (at least for me) I didn't see it that way. But dropping $200 at once on something? It steers people away. Just because people are saving money by not smoking doesn't mean they want to spend what they would have spent on cigarettes on mods and stuff.

Maybe retailers need to offer a layaway program for mods for folks with the above mindset. :p

I know a couple shops in my area with authentic Kings in stock.

Also, personally, I have not gone and bought a clone due to lack of availability. If something is not available I just buy whatever else may interest me, or maybe not buy anything at all and use what I already have found and bought while supplies were available.

And whenever someone mentions King, this is what comes to mind for me:

View attachment 376006

I think about the only product named King that I would actually buy, mind y'all. :D

Way more expensive than most mods, and made here in the USA in southern California. :2cool:

Nice! And agreed.

Oh god... If there were a layaway program, I would own SO MANY MODS. None of them round tube mechs, but still. Would not be good for me.

Back when I got started I got a cheap something or other. Didn't put much thought into what it was. Just something more than an eGo. Then I dropped in small amounts at a time into a savings account until I had the amount necessary to get the Provari. I did so again with the Reo. That having been said, such a tack is useless for those who like the items that only go for short runs, unless they are lucky to know about it far enough in advance.

I wouldn't buy an authentic or a clone King mod. Just not my style. :)

I should post some more vape porn like last night to get everyone's blood pumping to their groins.

I did just buy a Dremel this evening for the sole purpose of polishing my shiny mods. Which I did when I got home from purchasing it. I am happy with the results.
