I can definitely see why they were kicking people out that were there selling clones. You don't want to have a booth with the real thing from the original manufacturer next to a booth selling a clone of that mod. Could start a bunch of crap. It's a private event so I suppose the owner of the event can kick out who ever they want. But I own clone mods and atty's. I like authentics but I can't buy them too often just because of the price. But if I get a clone of a mod or atty that I end up loving then I'll go out and buy the authentic. Reo's look awesome but still the price is crazy for a mechanical box mod! But I'd definitely like to add one to my collection one day.
I know the guys who set up the Summit don't sell clones in their stores, so I am sure it was not hard for the mod makers to get their attention. I don't think the Reo is worth the money myself. I would take a Hexohm over just about any box mod there is. It never surprises me when I see how much of the Hexohm design other box mod makers implement in their designs.
I don't care one way or the other about the REO. I have not chosen to add one to my collection strictly because there is nothing I think is any more special about it than hundreds of other box mods. When I am asked for a recommendation, I tell people to get the second version of the Hexohm.
I also recommend the Conspiracy Mods nonregulated mod. And if you just got to have the best, buy a Slug if you can find it. I don't claim to be an expert but I will say that the one the thing that is consistent amongst the people that know me is that they often say, "If he don't own it, its not worth owning." I had a Reo at one time, but I did not think enough of it to keep it.
I made my own hex ohm box with the fat daddy 510. not a bad little device
I also find it impossible to believe those people didn't actually know they were clones and were just playing the "stupid" card. everyone knows what legits go for
anyone who buys a clone as a legit clearly has no idea about vaping in general. that's not to say they weren't naïve and placed trust in the wrong person, but that person clearly didn't do his/her homework before making a substantial purchase
I agree with you 100% in most of what you said. Pricing is always a dead give away until someone dishonestly or unknowingly sells a clone for the price of an authentic. Aslo, in researching most people don't have access to the right people who know where the aunthentics are at. Most people get their information from Youtube and forums like this one. The problems with said sources is that often the information they are receiving is not accurate. I have watched many Youtube videos of people lying about the quality of some clones and claiming to be reviewing an authentic when in fact what they were showing was a clone.
When people ask me about buying authentics, I tell everyone the same thing, First, try to talk to the mod maker and make sure the people selling the mod got it from the maker. Second, ask the seller for a copy of the invoice from where they got the mod. Third, throw one and two out the door and deal direct with AG in SO CAL. If you don't know who they are, you probably should stick with the clones!

It shows you understand very little in vaping equipment. I'd ask how old are you, but I am afraid it is against ECF rules.
P.S. I read this thread because I am interested in anthropology.
I have no words.I don't claim to be an expert but I will say that the one the thing that is consistent amongst the people that know me is that they often say, "If he don't own it, its not worth owning."
