Don't bring up Alexa.

She was Nice in the Beginning. But now all She does is Bugs Me to switch my e-Bay Listings to Amazon.
I for one refuse to effectively bug my own home for the benefit of a corporation and worse pay for the privilege

I have to say, I can appreciate your creativity and ability to think out of the box. Not everyone has such a creative mind.
I worked with a guy like you. In between his crazy ideas, he did manage to come up with a few winners.
Back in the early 90's, the days of dial-up, x.25 and Frame relay, we parsed the error and warnings file , then had this girl record different words/strings. When the error matched a recorded word/file, 'Ornella' would speak it for a room full of techs. It was a massive time saver.

I suppose a mod could have a built in screw which could revolve. You could feed in wire on one side and a coil could come out the other. Probably wouldn't take much power and could easily fit it into a regular sized mod.

Or does this sound like total crap !.

Why the horse's balls would you want that in a mod?

Yes one could build a device that can make coils but it
    -won't be small
    -won't be lightweight
those points already are true if you just look at the stepper motor and driver circuit needed, not even the mechanism that makes the coil itself. Want a smaller motor? Then it'll be very weak and you need a gearbox on top to generate the torque you want (more waste of space and additional weight).

A standalone device at least could make sense (if anybody needed it, which is another question) but a mod most certainly doesn't. If you so regularly need fresh coils on the go then you can just build a few coils in advance and carry those few grams around instead of a whole bunch of metal, plastic, circuit boards and wire that you don't need most of the time.

To come back to an earlier comparison it's like building a lace tying machine into your shoes.

Seems like a reasonable idea, but first you have to find someone small enough to fit inside...then the rest is easy

The dogs name was Astro. The kid was Elroy. Gah! So few working neurons left and I remember that kind of garbage :/
I know, but since the car commercial has been playing a lot lately I just see the guy and dog and the phrase “ his boy Elroy” and I thought it would be cool to name a dog Elroy.

I was thinking this would be closer to the size of a refrigerator than a tank. All the gear for making and installing coils, and cutting and threading wicks, with a huge robot brain and high tech sensors. Maybe instead you could build a vaping station and keep the complicated stuff out of the tank. Stick your tank in a slot and the machine would strip it down, wash it, reassemble it, and install the coil and wick of your choice. Just download the service program for your tank and go.
