Prodigy V2 Adapters

Is it still the case that the new Prodigy V2 will use the same adapters as the Protege/PT? I want to order a 801 adapter, but only if the design specification for the V2 is finalized at least with respect to the adapters it will use...

I'm anxiously waiting for an answer to this as well.. I want to purchase the adapters, but only if they'll be compatible with the future Prodigy V2.

I have no specific knowledge, but logic says "no."

The diameter of the Prodigy, even the new one, is greater than the Protege or Passthrough. The new Prodigy will be sized to fit CR123 batteries rather than the 18650, so a little slimmer... but I don't see how its adapters would fit the smaller diameter devices. At least not without adding extra length to the tube for a taper.

It's my understanding that the new prodigy adapters will not fit the V1
as stated in this reply.

I was hoping that they were just changing the material but it appears they're chaning the entire device.
I think its great the way it is. Stainless would be nice but it's going to add weight.

V1 and V2 adapters will NOT be interchangeable.

The V1 adapters are larger than the V2, thus only V1 adapters will work with the original Prodigy, and V2 adapters will ONLY work with the V2.

I think the confusion is over the statement on the site that says Prodigy V1 "new Version". Maybe the title should read Prodigy V2 instead...?

Okay, so i think the consensus is the following.

There are 3 different size adapters, or soon will be
1. Prodigy V1 (alluminum)
2. Protege/USBpass (Alluminum or SS)
3. Prodigy V2 (SS only)

Is that right?

The confusion on the website is this.

Prior to the release of the prodigy it was listed on the site that the USBpass adapter would fit the Prodigy V2. This was because originally the protege was going to be called "Prodigy V2". So all references currently on the site that state anything about Prodigy V2 are actually referring to the Protege. The protege adapters are one in the same as the usb PT adapters aside from the fact that they switched to SS from alluminum. The new USB pass adapters are the same as the old just SS instead of Alluminum.

The new prodigy will use a completely new adapter and won't be compatible with the old prodigy, or the protege/usbpass adapter.

I think that sums it up.

We are asking whether the new V2 adapters are the same as Protege/PT adapters, not V1 adapters.

SOrry, there are about 4 threads right now asking this same question. NO. The adapters will not the the same for the Protege/PT and V2.
