I have one arriving Monday. I really like the design, just not the juice capacity all that much. I'm looking forward to building with dual core fused clapton on that deck. The massive feed holes should keep up nicely.

I agree the massive feed holes will keep up no problem, the problem might come in the form of massive leaking...I'm sure you'll let us know, good luck with it.

you should be able to choke off the air flow to the coil (s) enough for a mouth to lung, but then if you use the AFC ring, you would be limiting the amount of air that hits the coil. One may want to use both the control ring and a smaller i.d. drip tip.

BTW, I have to return mine because it has a dead short somewhere that I can't readily figure out. I believe it may be in the center pin insulator but I'm not willing to mess with it unless I don't get a new avocado. Sub tank supply said that they have sold a bunch and it's the first that they have heard about it but they will work on getting me a replacement (good customer service-fingers crossed!). Mine also appeared to be used at some point prior to the manufacturers shrink wrapping it. When I opened it, the atomizer had a little puddle of liquid in the tank and some condensation in there as well. I thought to myself "now that is some serious production oils!".
I figured I'll go ahead and clean it in my ultrasonic cleaner and do a build on it anyways. To unscrew the base and deck in order to remove the glass (it's glass), you need to remove the small nut on the deck (careful not to lose it, it's small) then unscrew the post and set it aside. The deck and base will then unscrew and come apart to remove the glass. While I was doing that, it started getting crunchy and my clear glass cracked (oh great!). After I got the base and deck separated I noticed that there were no washers in the grooves for the glass and it must have been bound up a bit and stressed the glass on the initial twist to unscrew. All my washers were in the parts bag (clear, black and green)

With all that said, this little atty has some serious potential. The machining is awsome for the price point and the design (minus the capacity) should work very well. After I found out there was an issue with a short, for giggles I built it with some 26g nichrome 80 and wicked it. It was a single coil set up and wicking it was a little tedious at first but I know will get easier. I filled it with some junk juice I had to test it for leaks. I had a 3mm i.d. coil set up and held that sucker upside down for like 2 solid minutes and not a single drip from the deck. my wick was pretty dense but not too dense to effect wicking I'm sure. I can see if you don't use enough wick where this would be a leaker but it was solid for me.

I will report back when/if they send me a new avocado and let you know how all goes.

happy vaping

I got mine yesterday. So far it seems to be a great setup. Flavor and vapor production are both great. My only complaint thus far is that when running dual coils it's a slight pain to refill (which needs to happen often due to the small capacity). To refill while using a dual setup you need to pull the wet wick out of one of the holes and flip it over the center of the deck, fill the chamber, then maneuver the wet wick back down the hole. This doesn't seem like it would be a problem with a single coil since you could just remove the ceramic plug from the coil-less side and fill from there but I have yet to try it with a single coil to compare the performance. Either way, it's a great setup and I am glad to have it. Well worth $30 no matter how you slice it. I've spent much more on attys that were far less impressive.

Getting off the subject here for a second. I started building my Griffin's last night and these set screws that Geekvapes has in the Griffin are black oxide or what they call a 4.19 steel black oil finish(or so I think). I couldn't get 1 screw out without stripping it with the Allen key supplied. and gave up for time being. Anyway I sent a message to them that I didn't think they should use those. black oxide and 4.19 steel rust in moisture as far I know, but besides they should be stainless not softer threaded into stainless. Any thoughts from anyone? Just my observation, but could be wrong,

Ughhh I am now having a problem if i Screw my 510 pin in all the way it is shorting out or not reading at all 8( or the little nut thats between the velocity posts ,... Is this the problem everyone else is having
Yes.. Be sure you thread the screw and the nut solidly, I had similair issue and played with both. That resolved my issue. You might tighten them and check on your ohm reader and see if it jumps around, adjust a few times till it doesn't.

The Avocado I received is flawed and exhibits the shorting problem with the center conductor. While it provides a very pleasant vape, I do not trust it. Geek Vape is apparently aware of the problem, but do not seem inclined to fix it. Something as simple as removing and re-installing the atomizer on a device can cause it to short. This issue could cause a catastrophic problem if an inexperienced vaper used an Avocado on a mech and the center conductor shorted. I do not do business with unresponsive vendors so I am seeking a refund and moving on.
