Dagone nice snag there stat!:)

Thanks! :D I was not optimistic when he first pm'd me (I've had offers of some awfully rough hardware for trades before) but it seems like a solid trade. I'd have much rather given Rob more money for my next REO.. but there will be more, lol

i rate the orbtronic 2900 mAh ones too which are essentially Panasonics - one of those will last all day easily in my grand, whereas an EFest 2000 is shot after about 3 hours. The AWs are good and i'd like to try the MNKEs next time i buy more batteries.

I'm not helped by using RM2s with duals wrapped at close to 1 Ohm - it's a very hard life for a battery around me.

I am curious... why you wrap duals instead of using a thicker wire to get to 1ohm?

I ordered a pair of those Sammy 20R's the other night, from China.. Hopefully I'll know how they stack up against the MNKE's before 2014

Looking forward to it. I order from China all the time. Not as bad as a lot of people think. I've had machining stuff show up in a week, most other stuff 2-3 weeks. As long as you don't order during Chinese new year you're good.

Because i can use the same wire 32g kanthal for all my RM2s and make every coil in exactly the same way, so they are very consistent. My wife likes her mini at 2 Ohms+ and i can achieve that with 4 wraps and be done with it. For mine i just use 2 coils on the same wick (again 4 wraps) and hit 1 Ohm. It means i don't have to have 4 different gauges of wire in my toolbox or think very hard!

OK, SO! back to business here. I got my AW 1600mAh 18650 batteries yesterday, charged them up, and loaded one @ 7 a.m. this morning. It is now . . . IDK check the post time (7:20 p.m.). I'm comparing apples to oranges here, because the AWs are red and the MNKEs are orange. No, seriously, this thing is proving to be a very good battery. I'm not done with it yet! Its at 3.8v and still kickin' like a mule. The MNKEs are 4-5 months old, so I can't do a head to head. But the AW1600s are at least as good as the MNKEs were as I recall them from new days. If I were to choose between the two, I would choose the AW1600s.*

Stats, Dizzie: report please!

addit: to anyone who wasn't following along, I'm vaping these batts @ 0.5Ω.

addit s'more: Of course, this can't be . .. subΩ? on a REO? . . . . . . . . I heard you couldn't do that!

addsthistoo: Trust me, it is a HOT vape.

*if for no other reason, $8-10 less for a pair, and form fits REO better.

I got my MNKEs yesterday, got home charged em up, took just under 30min ea, both were at 3.68v. Been using it on a .7 ohm coil with three 1.2mm air holes so straight to lung hits only, been taking 6-8 second pulls on it. During the week I don't use 18650s during the day so I've only been hitting this when I get home. I can't tell a difference so far over the AW 1600s but it's just over 3.9v still & still hitting like when I first put it in. Not in a Grand though.

I'll try one in the Grand this weekend. So far I think I may not notice a considerable difference. I'll probably continue to use the AWs in my Reos & use the MNKEs for sub-ohm.

$8-10 less? Than the MNKE's? RTD sells the MNKE's for two bucks more than the AW 1600's..

Digression... digging the 1600's, a lot. Ok so I'm gonna compare the difference between the two (aw1600 to mnke1300) to the difference between K and N. Performance seems right on par. AW1600's may be a little better which could be "new thing syndrome" or it could be legit, could be the extra (rated) 300mAh. I dunno. Not really a fair comparison though as I'm rocking the Nichrome today, which my MNKE's haven't seen any action with yet.

As of this moment I am tickled with the aw1600's and would buy them again over the mnke's if for no other reason than OG likes the BUTAN top better ;)

Yeah, so, I wasn't going to declare a "winner", per se, as I'm not comparing new batteries; but I think the AW1600 are better too.

So, what I was gonna say is that the charts suck. As close as these two batteries are, they look miles apart on any testing I've seen. And it has been discussed; but running a constant drain test on batteries that are going to be used in short bursts (ESPECIALLY in high amperage bursts) is apparently no reflection on the performance we can expect from them.

In all fairness, this goes for the Panasonic/Orbitronic NCR18650PDs as well. I haven't tried them; but they chart mediocre for high amp use from 4.1-3.8 volts, and folks are saying they actually hit great (better than charted) in practice.

I've read through this thread while blowing plumes, I say plumes of vapor boy!

Still in awe of my 1Ω micro coil.:)

Anyways, I've got a couple of those 1600's coming by Saturday. I was running the aw 18490's with a kick but dropped that when my ohms went lower and have been using the aw 18650/2000mah. They last a good long while but was checking out a chart and read the 1600's actually do better under load. I plan to try them since I want performance more than vape time. I don't mind changing out batts.

Stats, congrats on the grand. I saw in the classies where you made a trade. Why am I not surprised it was for a reo.
I have a feeling my EA and ac9 is going to be my next items up for adoption.

Thanks Fawg.. I can't wait till it gets here

So I got bored tonight and decided to sand down the body of OG. The black wrinkle came right off no problem..

I wasn't sure if I really liked it better or not so I put the black wrinkle finish back on and sanded the silver vein finish off the door ;)
