Anyone have experience with Bauway 510 2.2 ohm atty's? I recently purchased one from a company & it's just awful. The threading is off & it produces little to no vapor. Initially it wouldn't even hiss (I had to blow it out & put a couple drops of liquid onto it). Now that I've managed to get it semi-working it's constantly losing vapor production & there's little-to-no throat hit at all. Is this common with this brand? I've been vaping for well over a year & have stuck with joyetech up until now but tried this one for cost-savings. Any tips on what I can do to get this performing better? Maybe take out the bridge?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I've only used a couple of the Bauways & got decent service out of them (for the price anyway) but these things are sort of like light bulbs in terms of reliability I suppose. Anyway you might try easing the contact end out just a hair to make sure it's getting a solid connection with the battery. That's the only thing that's coming to mind at the moment.

I'm just making a list of stuff to order now and replacement dripping atomizers will be on that list. Planning to go with the Cisco 306LR this time; haven't tried them but reading good things about 'em, and Ikenvape's io6LR have been out of stock for a while now. I'm fairly new to vaping & especially to dripping but I'm using a io6 1.5 Ohm right now that I've been using for over 3 months - pretty good for a <$10 atty! The Ciscos are about the same price, 2 + a drip tip for $20. If I can get close to the service from them I'm getting from the Ikenvape atty I'll be delighted.

Good luck, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

BTW, Welcome to ECF! I just noticed that was your first post, Jay, so let me explain what I was talking about. You might take a paper clip or something & stick it slightly in the hole in the end of the atty that contacts the battery... not far at all, just far enough to gently ease that center contact outward a tiny bit. It is seated in a (presumably) rubber seal and sometimes during shipment or something they can move slightly inward enough so that a good solid electrical contact with the battery (or switch, depending upon your setup) is impossible.

Hope this helps! :toast:

Hi guys & thanks for the tips & the welcome! I'm not sure how to ease the center contact outward though - am I to do that from the inside of the atty & if so how do I go about doing that when the bridge is in the way? Or do you mean just try to ease the entire atty out? I've tried pushing it down & moving it all around but it's not helping at all. Oh & it's not making a gurgling sound - it's just an airy hissing with practically no vapor or throat hit.

It's quite annoying - anyway, I also tried clearing some of the mesh out of the way because there's tons of it & I'm wondering if that's part of the problem. That hasn't helped either though so I'm at quite a loss ...

To ease the contact outward do it from the outside. You'll just need to straighten a paper clip a little bit (or you could use a sewing needle I suppose). Just stick it into the center hole *only a very short distance* so you don't reach the coil - with something as thick as a large paper clip 1/16" is plenty deep enough. Then gently put a little side pressure on it & pull it outward ever so slightly. Keep in mind, if it's firing at all it's making some contact, so you just need it to be a more solid contact... it doesn't need to move out much at all. This might not do any good but OTOH I've had a few brand new attys & cartos I thought were DOA, then saw this trick on here & tried it, & every one of 'em worked just fine. It's worth a shot. :)

Best of luck, & Happy Vaping :vapor:

Thanks again guys. I tried pulling the contact out a little & it worked for about a split second & then went straight back to utter & complete fail. I'm so frustrated. After over a year & a half of vaping I've started bumming cigarettes & smoking here & there because my e-cig isn't providing the nicotine I need. I'm disgusted with myself & super annoyed.

The owner of the website I bought it from emailed me back on Monday saying he'd send me a new one but I haven't received anything yet (& it's a one day ship - we're in the same county/state). I just emailed him back this morning to follow up. I understand that suppliers get bunk items in a while so I don't blame him. I'm kind of annoyed that he didn't test it prior to shipping it though. Anyway, ugh .. I'm just so frustrated right now. Sorry, venting over. Hopefully I receive the replacement tonight :)

I really never had luck with bauway attys. I had one do similar to what you are experiencing and found the wick was too big and flooding the coil just by sitting on it. I de wicked it and it worked but still not a very good atty. honestly if you like joyetech I would stick with them for try out Cisco spec attys from avidvaper or ikenvape attys. I used ciscos for about 8 months and just recently started using an i06 from ikenvape and it works really well.

Thanks Fray. I received the replacement from the supplier today. It (just like the other one) was dry (no primer fluid on it) so I put a few drops of liquid on it & I'm letting it sit for a while before trying it. I likely will stick with Joyetech but I've heard a lot of kudos about the ikenvape attys so I may try them as well. I'm also considering getting an Icon or Prodigy from Puresmoker in the next month or so (just not sure which model yet). I think it's about time to upgrade from my eGo. Any thoughts on that? What's your set-up?

I have a reo grand, a VVPV, and a Darwin.

If you are content at 3.7v I would recommend a silver bullet. It is a solid mod and altsmoke helps you out if you have any issues. Reos are pretty rock solid as well and bottom feed juice into the atty.

I recently had a lavatube and would recommend that if you want to go to a variable voltage.
