We ALL had sucky baby showers..it's just part of the process. At least with US, we'll all KNOW you're doing that 'polite smile' via webcam, but you can't see US! What more could a girl ask for?

I'll make it intresting, you can see the girly ohhing and ahhing over all the baby stuff saying "Its so cute"

LOL the tension from having people not like each other and trying to do things together... must of been fun...LOL

I think this is going to be fun, and if it is short enough my camera will do up to 1/2 videos and I can tape it with that or just have hubby take lots of pics (as well as trying to set up the web cam) and I can make a site to post them on (I do know how to do that)

I want to thank you ladies again, this is so nice of you..

P.S hubby says not to send babies they do not keep well in boxes....

I think this is an awesome idea. I will participate too. Why don't you go on to babies r us and make a gift registry and then send whoever is in charge the link to it. Then they can distribute the link to people who want to participate in the online shower, you could even use it for your in person shower. Then everyone will know what you need and what you already got.

I personally had 3 kids 8 yrs apart each. Yes I am nuts. I would say I am done , no more then the little babies would get to me LOL. If anyone needed a shower it was me. LOL After 8 yrs I had no baby anything left.

I had one baby shower when I was 16 and had my first kid. It was a huge shower , like they should be. There were people there I didnt even know. My Mom invited everyone and thier sister. Probably cause she knew whatever I didn't get she would have to pay for LOL.

Second baby 8 1/2 yrs later . The etiquette crap happened. Babies shower is only for 1st babies blah blah blah. Whatever. Ok so I applied my etiquette and felt like crap because I wanted a shower dammit! I realized later that people I would have invited to the shower never even knew I had another kid LOL.

Third baby will be 4yrs old in June. My Mom wanted to do a shower because she felt bad about baby 2 and how I never got anything from anyone including her. My best friend would have thrown me a shower if I didn't live 1200 miles away. But I had just moved to Fl the yr before and didn't really know anyone to invite . Mom gave me gift cards instead for babies r us and thats what I got nice gifts. I am not complaining , but no shower. Showers are not for the gifts really, they are for sharing the birth of your beautiful new baby.. I felt like I was robbed of 2 showers and I think if you want a shower you should have one dammit! who cares about the hoity toity ettiquite freaks , what are we Martha Stewart . Please!

Never heard the whole you can only have a shower with the first baby.... (the only other shower I went to was some ones 2nd (for the baby she was having) and it was her 6th kid) Thought it was a "hay I'm having a baby isn't that wonderful and special" kind of thing, because they are all special not just the first... If you have another one in three years let us know I'm sure I will still have baby stuff sitting around...LMAO

I know about having almost no baby stuff left, I sent most of it down to my sis in law in TX when she was preg. with twins a couple years ago, I did get the maternity clothing back (only so much can fit in my mom's car and we send things back and forth when mom makes her yearly tour of the states visiting people- she is going to try to go through TX on her way here in sept to pick up some of it...lol) Right now I have a basenet because it was the first thing some one gave me for my son and I would not go down on the price at any yard sell (I did loan it out for a difrent baby between the two I have because I wasn't using it and I am a sentimental fool and did not want to give it away..lol) and blankets, just can't get rid of blankets the kids came home in and people made for them...LOL

That is why I asked about the whole ediquite thing, I'm a little behind on what Miss. Maners would say...LOL

As for a gift regestry I can try to make one, never have before...LOL my wedding was a lot like my baby shower so.... LMAO

I've heard the whole "only a shower with your first" but in my opinion, it's kind of a reeeeaaallly old tradition. I certainly didn't follow it, and I think it's one of those "traditions" that are falling by the wayside. And I had two girls, lol. And they were two years apart.

But by them time my youngest arrived, my oldest had ruined almost all the clothes, the bottles most definitely needed replacing, and we didn't have a lot of the baby "gadgets" anyways. So my Mom & Grandmother were going to be helping buy stuff anyways, so I figured why not just have a shower, invite all 7 people I know (excluding males,my mom, grandma, sister, 2 aunts & 2 friends) and celebrate the baby?

Ok like some one sugested (Kinkachoo) I just spent all day (ok yes I didn't have anything better to do...lol) playing with a gift regestry, went a little wild on it but its all in fun, I had no idea how expensive some baby things are getting, or what people who buy some of this stuff is thinking, I'm doing the whole sugested regestry thing and let me tell you never had all that stuff for my other kids....LMAO I had a good time though...

As for guessing the time and day the baby is born have fun with that, I just hope its quick (any one know if what they say about raspberry leaf tea is true???) but then again reading about some of you gals labors you would say mine were quick...LMAO

Go for it. My first baby shower was a joke. My ex was having an affair and the "other woman" had invited herself to my shower. She's lucky I didn't find out until several months later...can you tell this still burns my toast?

it's is. mine were excluded because they seemed to have too much fun pushing my buttons with things like: " hey, let measure your waist and then measure mine to see who's bigger" then they would collapse in giggles why I stewed. Or worse, poke the belly pregnancy hormones and belly touching just don't mesh with me very well, lol.
