Vapes better than the micro coils I was using. Built those just like Rob does on the Reomods.com site video.
30g Kanthal A-1 wrapped around 2mm silica doubled. Just over 1 ohms.

This has been a FANTASTIC read!! I actually wanted to get away from the microcoils, this is why... while I prefer a warmer vape because the flavor seems to be stronger I am running into 2 issues... I've gotten my cough back which I think is because it seems to be a wetter vape too which I think is what is causing the cough. So how do I get a warm flavorful (not airy) vape without it being wet?
I wanted to add that my wick has been rolled cotton... could that be my issue? I am allergic to wool so I've been afraid to try the ecowool.
I've seen others say that cotton bothered their throat. You might want to give ceramic a try.
Where is ceramic wick available? What does it look like? How does it work? I had silica but gave it away because I couldn't get it into the microcoil. Don't laugh, I don't always make logical decisions. 
EKowool is actually a type of silica. It's primary use is the same as Nextel XC - a heat sheild

I get more hits when I use either over cotton. That's just the experience I've had with all three.
